The gun control discussion continues in Washington, D.C. and Walmart is sending their own to take part in it.
Walmart is sending representatives to meet with President Barack Obama and his administration on Thursday, this after the corporation acknowledged that it underestimated the U.S. administration’s expectations in the talks.
According to the Huffington Post, Walmart also acknowledged publicly that it has been talking with the White House and Congress ever since the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
Walmart sells firearms at more than 1,750 of its about 2,600 U.S. stores, according to the article.
Citing customer demand, firearm sales were brought back to about half of Walmart stores in the U.S. in 2011, following a five-year hiatus on sales at a third of its stores.
Locally, there are four Walmart locations that sell firearms: East Greenville, Pottstown, Allentown and Bechtelsville.

Wilsons Hardware and Locksmiths in Lansdale holds a Federal Firearms License to deal firearms. It does not stock guns in its West Main Street store; Firearm sales are special order, by appointment, according to its website.
Wilsons Hardware does not sell Pennsylvania hunting licenses.
Dell’s Gun Room recently moved from Cowpath Road and Route 309 in Montgomery Township to 1217 Walnut Street in Hatfield Township.
Dell’s Gun Room not only offers guns for sale, including new guns, but it also provides appraisals, transfers, cleaning services and gunsmithing. There is a full-time gunsmith on staff with 20-plus years’ experience, according to its website.
Dell’s also disposes of unwanted firearms and ammunition.

American Arms & Ammo at 808 Bethlehem Pike in Colmar, Hatfield Township, has been in business for five years and stocks more than 1,000 firearms, according to its website.
American Arms & Ammo is also planning on becoming a Class Three firearms dealer, according to its website.
A Class Three firearms dealer is one who can sell restricted weapons on the National Firearms Act of 1968, including machine guns, short-barreled shotguns and rifles, silencers, grenades, pen guns and cane guns and smooth-bore pistols.
Class Three dealers are required to first obtain a Federal Firearms License, which then classifies him or her as a Special Occupation Taxpayer.
Class Three dealers must sell items registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. In order to purchase an NFA item, dealers must get approval from the ATF, obtain a signature from a chief of police or sheriff, pass a background check, which includes photographs and fingerprints, register the firearm and pay an Occupational Tax of $500 a year, according to the law.
If a gun club is more on target with your interest, there are some local opportunities, albeit private.
The Souderton-Harleysville Game, Fish and Forestry Association is a private club in Tylersport. The club has about 1,750 members, according to its website.
