Jenkins Avenue Roadwork Delayed to Sept. 3

All traffic on South Broad Street in Lansdale will not be permitted to turn onto Jenkins Avenue during utility construction.

Lansdale Borough Police report that, due to unforeseen issues, roadwork on Jenkins Avenue has been delayed to Sept. 3.
Roadwork was intended to begin Thursday morning; now work will resume next Tuesday.
Jenkins Avenue is open to commuters and traffic restrictions will be put in place Sept. 3. Construction work on sewer lines will begin then, weather permitting, at South Broad Street and Jenkins Avenue.
The initial phase of the project is planned for several days during morning and afternoon hours.
Here's how traffic will be affected:  

  • Vehicle traffic traveling on S. Broad Street will not be permitted to turn onto Jenkins Avenue.
  • Local traffic (residents and business patrons) will be permitted to access the unit block of Jenkins Avenue from S. Chestnut Street, S. Line Street and/or Penn Street.
  • S. Broad Street will remain open however commuters should expect delays in that area due to temporary, changing lane patterns.
