Ray Liberto has been sworn in as a member of Lansdale Borough Council. Liberto will fill the term vacated by former member Liz Troy, who resigned earlier this month due to work and personal issues.
Liberto, a Republican, is a graduate of Lansdale Catholic and a veteran of U.S. Marines who served in the Gulf War. Liberto, an organizer of the Lansdale Beer Tasting Festival, was one of seven candidates to apply for the position. He is also co-chair of the Lansdale Area Fundraising Society.
He was sworn in Wednesday after three votes were taken on filling the vacancy, including two ties, according to The Reporter.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Liberto is an operations manager for Merck.
