Lansdale Man Claims Stripper Ruptured His Bladder

Patrick Gallagher claims a stripper "launched down" onto his abdomen at his November 2010 bachelor party at The Penthouse Club, and has filed a lawsuit against the business seeking retribution for medical costs

A Lansdale man is suing The Penthouse Club in Port Richmond, Philadelphia, because he alleges a stripper ruptured his bladder when she slid down a pole during his bachelor party in 2010.

Patrick Gallagher filed a lawsuit in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court last week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is seeking $50,000 for medical costs, pain, humiliation and mental anguish, according to the article.

The article states Gallagher was celebrating his bachelor party in November 2010, and was brought on stage with the strippers as part of a bachelor package.

According to the lawsuit, Gallagher was told to lie down on the stage below the pole. A stripper then slid down and landed on top of him with enough force, the lawsuit said, to rupture his bladder.

Gallagher’s attorney, Neil T. Murray, told the Inquirer that the stripper “launched herself down” onto his client.

According to the Inquirer, Gallagher and his friends left the club because he was in pain. At the hospital the next morning, Gallagher had surgery on his bladder and was notified of nerve damage to his back and hip, according to the article.

CBS News reports there have been other cases where patrons or strippers sued an establishment.

The New York Daily News ran an article where a Manhattan woman taking strip aerobics classes at Crunch Gym claimed she fell after an instructor allegedly left her on top of a pole, causing her to miss work for six months.

The Palm Beach Post reported a patron sued Cheetah’s strip club in West Palm Beach because a stripper allegedly hit him in the eye with her heel, breaking his face. The man received $650,000 in October 2010 from a settlement.

Patrick Gallagher later stated that his face would have been a more suitable location for a landing site with "launching" maneuvers.

haha... those comments are great! Seriously though... suing the strip club because someone launched onto your bladder!? I feel bad for his wife. Not sure what he's embarassed about!? Did he piss on her? I'm also sure that he willingly went up on stage, willingly laid down... good luck with that lawsuit Patrick. He and his friends left the club after because of the pain. I'm sure they took a couple of shots to "ease the pain"... got a few more lap dances and then finally left. He passed out and then decided to go to the hospital the next morning. Grow some b**** dude. It's not the clubs fault that you can't handle "rough play". My friends hubby got knocked out from a stripper because she was banging his head against the stripper pole. Nope... no lawsuit... just a wild bachelor party story to tell the grandkids. Here's some tissues and a box of depends.

It's really a shame this guy hurt his bladder, but it certainly will be the "Grandpa's bladder" story for the grandchildren - of course, when they're much older. I wonder how the bride felt, when hearing that her furture husband's bladder was ruptured b/c of a stripper, and her forceful and violent sexuality?? I wouldn't be exactly jumping up and down with joy!! lol..

Funny...my bladder got busted AFTER I got married! Pissing down both legs has continued for 32 years now!

If his Bladder was not filled to the bursting point from all the beer he drank he would have been ok. One other thing, why wait so long? Afraid his soon to be wife would find out how he actually got injured?
Mommy October 08, 2012 at 05:57 PM
hahaha... "ummm... honey..."
Mommy October 08, 2012 at 06:01 PM
William... you're right. Haha... either afraid of his wife... or wasn't able to find a lawyer that didn't laugh in his face.

Well call me! I've made millions of dollars getting pathetic men just like you compensation for stripper abuse! I promise that I will make you so much money that your soon to be wife, that was going to call off the wedding will stay with your pissy a** for the rest of your pissy diaper wearing life! LOL...That's Alans next commercial, it was inspired by Patrick Gallagher also known as the guy who ruin the other guys only night out to cheat on their wives. BOom! In no way is this statement a reflection of the real Alan Rothenberg and was intended as a joke, Please don't sue me Alan! Lol.

Sadly, according to a lawyer who has been on our local news as well has made guest appearances on the Today show, he actually has a case and apparently, this isn't the first time this place has been sued by a patron for an injury that occurred because of a dancer and they (the club) lost in court each time. You think they would've learned by now. If they would just issue or post a no liability clause with lap dances whether private or for a bachelor party, they would have nothing to worry about, however, they have not so therefore, as sad as it may be, they are actually liable for his injury because it was their employee who caused it. It's the same as if you would go into a store, not see the floor was slippery and no caution sign, you slip and fall and guess what, the store is responsible! The reason personal injury lawsuits don't happen until a year or two after the injury is because you sometimes don't know the long term affects and apparently, there is still some major issues with this mans bladder all because of this injury. Sad but true, he's got a legit case. I won't be surprised if he wins or loses the case.
