Lansdale Man Claims Stripper Ruptured His Bladder

Patrick Gallagher claims a stripper "launched down" onto his abdomen at his November 2010 bachelor party at The Penthouse Club, and has filed a lawsuit against the business seeking retribution for medical costs

A Lansdale man is suing The Penthouse Club in Port Richmond, Philadelphia, because he alleges a stripper ruptured his bladder when she slid down a pole during his bachelor party in 2010.

Patrick Gallagher filed a lawsuit in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court last week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is seeking $50,000 for medical costs, pain, humiliation and mental anguish, according to the article.

The article states Gallagher was celebrating his bachelor party in November 2010, and was brought on stage with the strippers as part of a bachelor package.

According to the lawsuit, Gallagher was told to lie down on the stage below the pole. A stripper then slid down and landed on top of him with enough force, the lawsuit said, to rupture his bladder.

Gallagher’s attorney, Neil T. Murray, told the Inquirer that the stripper “launched herself down” onto his client.

According to the Inquirer, Gallagher and his friends left the club because he was in pain. At the hospital the next morning, Gallagher had surgery on his bladder and was notified of nerve damage to his back and hip, according to the article.

CBS News reports there have been other cases where patrons or strippers sued an establishment.

The New York Daily News ran an article where a Manhattan woman taking strip aerobics classes at Crunch Gym claimed she fell after an instructor allegedly left her on top of a pole, causing her to miss work for six months.

The Palm Beach Post reported a patron sued Cheetah’s strip club in West Palm Beach because a stripper allegedly hit him in the eye with her heel, breaking his face. The man received $650,000 in October 2010 from a settlement.
