Lansdale Rescheduling Resident Meeting on 8th Street CDBG Project

The initial construction detail meeting in December had no residents there. Lansdale Borough is working on a new date to discuss improvements on three blocks of West Eighth Street.

It was a meeting in mid-December for the residents of West Eighth Street to inform them of the future Community Development Block Grant construction project to improve curbing, sidewalks and utilities—but none of them showed up.
Lansdale Borough Manager Timi Kirchner attributed the absence to a few things, including recent snowstorms and the holiday season.
Thus, the borough is working to reschedule a construction charrette meeting to provide details and answer questions related to the project.
"For this new council, we always meet with the neighborhoods before we start these projects," Kirchner said. "So, we had this meeting and everyone there, except for the residents themselves."
Kirchner said construction will affect three blocks of West Eighth Street, between Cannon and Maple avenues, completed with funds from state Community Development Block Grants.
"We are working to reschedule that meeting, especially for council members from that ward," she said. "We want to make an effort to let them know when it is so they can be in attendance. It's a great opportunity to interact with residents affected by project."
