Mill Road Bridge Work in Hilltown Underway

The one-lane concrete bridge is being replaced with a 27-foot-long, two-lane structure. It will open in Summer 2014.

Reconstruction of the Mill Road bridge in Hilltown Township is underway.
The bridge will be replaced in a $609,000 project by Blooming Glen Contractors, per Perkasie News-Herald.
Detours are Diamond Street, Hilltown Pike and Church Road, per Hilltown Township.
According to the township, the one-lane, two-span concrete bridge was built in 1920. The 16.5-foot-wide bridge will be replaced with a 27-foot-long box beam bridge of a single span made of pre-stressed concrete.
There will be two 10-foot-wide travel lanes and two 2-foot-wide shoulders, according to the township.
The new bridge will open in Summer 2014.
