A section of Morris Road in Towamencin Township will be periodically closed this month as crews replace a damaged stream culvert under the roadway.
The section of road is between Wentz Church Road and Bustard Road, according to a release from the township.
Work is expected to begin Monday.
Morris Road will be closed each day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the weeks of Jan. 13 and Jan. 27, and it will be open to traffic at the end of each work day. However, the road will be closed round-the-clock during the week of Jan. 20, township Manager Robert Ford said in the release.
A detour will be in effect using Wentz Church Road and Fischer Road.
As part of the project, a deteriorated corrugated metal pipe culvert will be replaced with a new 48-inch HDPE pipe culvert, including end walls.
