North Penn Ranked Top School in PA by U.S. News & World Report

North Penn has been ranked 36th in the state by U.S. News & World Report.

North Penn Senior High School has been ranked the 36th best high school in Pennsylvania in the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings.

North Penn ranked 1,338 on the nationwide list.

The top five Pennsylvania high schools in the publication's 2014 assessment were: Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School; Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy; New Hope-Solebury High School; Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School; and Conestoga High School.

Each year, U.S. News joined forces with the American Institutes for Research to evaluate schools on overall student performance on state-mandated assessments, as well as how effectively schools educated their black, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students.

Performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams is used to determine the degree to which schools prepare students for college-level work.

Schools were ranked within each state, as well as on a national stage.

Not sure if this is quality reporting. Ranked 36th is good but not the top school in PA there are 35 ahead of it. If it made the top 5 it would be a little better reporting. Liberal media just never seems to want to tell the whole truth.

Exactly Don! The title does not fit the truth of the story. NPHS is waay to large. We need a second high school...

Headline is completely misleading.
More garbage from Patch. June 09, 2014 at 03:21 PM
Don, I think labeling this story as having Liberal bias is giving the writer to much credit. It seems to scream, "Please, O, please find this headline shocking so you will read further. After you realize it was deception, I mean, smoke and mirrors, hopefully you will find the headline humerous rather than offensive for wasting your valuable time and attention. Then if I happen to attract an inteligent reader the confusion will get sorted out quickly. Its then that, hopefully, you wont notice my lazyness in hacking up a perfectly good story and repeating facts in a way that it gives a completely different impression of the purpose or accuracy of the event. Maybe somewhere allong the way I will get the benifit of the doubt and receive a relevant label, like Liberal or Asshat. Either way as long as it causes enough drama and people commenting, it will meet our page visitor quota and we wont lose our income, funding and or my job that I obviously am grossly unqualified for. Sorry about my spelling and grammer bit, the spell/grammer check button's ink has rubbed off and I forget where on the keyboard it is located. Maybe soon Ill get to the chapter in my Be an Online Editor 101 cliffnotes book where it teaches the definition of the word Integrity. ENJOY!" That sure is a lot of screaming, but if this is not just lack of skill, it is gross negligence to have such a helpfull and powerfull tool such as The Patch in the hands of someone who is full of greed and selfishness. Hopefully its the former and just uneducated oblivious writers being used as puppets for those proffiting.
