Lansdale Reunion Cruise Returns Saturday Night

As a revival to bygone days of cruising up and down Main Street between the 1950s and 1970s, Lansdale Cruise Night was something to do when there was nothing to do.

The event is organized by residents Bill Henning, Deb Henning, Tara McNally and Ray Liberto and falls under the umbrella of Discover Lansdale. All proceeds from the event will benefit

The idea all began when the Facebook group "You Know You Grew Up in the Lansdale, PA Area If ..." started as a public forum to reminisce about days gone by. It is now 2,138 members strong.

Here's all you need to know for the Saturday night event:

  • All participants meet in Madison Parking Lot between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

  • Registration is $5 and a canned good. Forgot the canned good? You can buy one for $2.

  • You can get 2012 Lansdale Cruise shirts  at a minimum donation of $12

  • The first 40 registered cars will receive an "I Cruised Lansdale" 11-inch decal
  • Raffle tickets will be sold at $1 each or $10 for an arm's length

  •  The grand raffle basket includes more than $1,000 in gift certificates and items from various Lansdale businesses.

  • A 2012 Lansdale Cruise T-shirt will be signed by all registered participants and auctioned off at the end of the night. 

  • All proceeds benefit Manna on Main Street

  • Drivers on the cruise will meet at 8 p.m. in Railroad Plaza for a brief meeting. Afterward, cars will parade out onto Main Street to start the cruise.

  • Cruising will end at 10 p.m.

  • An awards ceremony will occur at Railroad Plaza at 10 p.m. Winners of the 50/50 raffle and the raffle basket will be drawn. The cruise shirt will be auctioned.

  • Railroad Plaza will feature a DJ and band throughout the night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

  • Area restaurants will be offering food with discount coupons. You can find coupons in our photo gallery for download. 

There are some other rules to follow:

  • Cars in the cruise must be road-worthy and registered with the state. 
  • Passengers should wear seatbelts
  • Nothing should be thrown from the car. It is not a parade.
  • All traffic laws apply
  • No alcohol on the streets
  • No exhaust flames or hydraulics

  • West on W. Main Street
  • Right on N. Mitchell Avenue
  • Left on Mill Street
  • Right into the parking lot at Frank's Pizza
  • Loop around back on Mill Street
  • Right on N. Mitchell Avenue
  • Left on W. Main Street
  • Right on Railroad Avenue
  • Right on S. Broad Street
  • Left into The Pavilion Shopping Center
  • Loop back to north on S. Broad Street
  • Left on W. Main Street
  • Repeat

Gimaro Seafood & Steakhouse in Montgomery Township will offer half-priced appetizers from 10 p.m. to midnight and $2 draft beer until close

Lisa Bouchelle, host of "Rock Star Kitchen" on Comcast Network and performer at Lansdale Beer Fest, will perform at Blue Dog Pub in Towamencin from 9 p.m. to midnight.
