Margaret S. Armitage, 67, wife of Harry “Bud” Armitage, passed away at her home in Warminster on Sunday, Nov. 4, according to The Courier Times. Armitage was an Abington native and Abington High School graduate, according to her tribute. She was a dancer and saxophonist, and spent most of her career with Bucks County government. Armitage was the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office administrator, according to the tribute. Of the family she is survived by, one is a daughter, Susan Armitage Lewis, of North Wales. A Philadelphia-born Lansdale man named Marcus Roman, 52, died Sunday of cardiac arrest, and was featured in the Philadelphia Daily News for his human services work in Montgomery County. The tribute stated that Roman followed his father, former Canaan Baptist Church pastor Rev. Gus Roman, in taking care of some of Philadelphia’s “pockets of despair.” Roman was an accounting student at Lansdale School of Business, according to the tribute. Jessie E. Beckerman, 77, formerly of North Wales, passed away Nov. 4 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness, according to the Times Leader obituary. Beckerman lived on New Grove Street in Wilkes-Barre. Beckerman moved from the Black Mountains of Harveys Lake and Trucksville to North Wales to be close to her family, according to the obituary. Former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter died Sunday, according to CNN, at age 82 in his Philadelphia home. Specter represented Pennsylvania in the Senate for 30 years. Specter started as a Democrat but switched to the Republican party before being elected to the U.S. Senate. The senator made headlines in 2009 when he switched to the Democratic Party. Specter announced his diagnosis of Hodgkin's disease in 2005. He underwent multiple treatments of chemotherapy and finally succumbed to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma Sunday. Sen.
