Boy, Woman Injured in Accident After Driver Runs Red Light

A 7-year-old boy was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a 44-year-old woman from Harleysville was transported to trauma unit at Abington Hospital

A 7-year-old boy was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a 44-year-old Harleysville woman was transported to the trauma unit of Abington Hospital following a Monday evening accident at Forty Foot and Allentown roads in Towamencin. Police said Joon Hee Park, 27, of Willow Grove drove his 2008 Toyota Camry north on Forty Foot Road and through the intersection at a red light. At around 6:22 p.m., Park's Camry collided with a 1998 Subaru Forester, driven by Denise Mathuthu, 44, police said. The Forester spun counterclockwise, coming to rest facing south in the intersection, police said. The 7-year-old was a passenger in the Forester, police said. Boy Hit By Car on Bustard Road in Towamencin

The accident occurred near the intersection of Old Morris Road. The youth was transported by PennStar helicopter for treatment

A 7-year-old boy was hit by a car on Bustard Road in Towamencin around 10:15 a.m. near Old Morris Road, according to reports. The youth was MedEvaced by PennStar, which landed at the Towamencin Fire Station on Bustard Road. According to The Reporter Online, the boy was walking with a group of pedestrians and was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lane of Bustard Road. According to the article, a child’s pair of gray sneakers, with black stripes and white laces, was visible at the scene. One of the shoes was in the middle of the southbound lane of Bustard Road, and later had a yellow chalk circle drawn around it as the investigation commenced, according to the article.
