Man Injured in Montgomery Township Crash Friday

The two-vehicle accident occurred at Horsham and Stump roads in Montgomery Township.

A man suffered a head injury and was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital following a crash on eastbound Horsham Road near Stump Road Friday morning, according to The Reporter. Overnight Accident Leaves Five Injured, Route 202 Closed for Several Hours

Rescue crews had to extricate trapped passengers from the car in Lower Gwynedd.

Five were injured in a crash which happened early Sunday morning along Route 202 at Swedesford Road. Crews had to rescue three trapped victims who were pinned inside a car. According to PennDOT alerts, the accident occurred around 1:17 a.m., closing down Route 202/Dekalb Pike. The road did not reopen until 4:54 a.m. FEMA's "Ready NotifyPA" alerts showed the road being closed from Hancock to Swedesford roads. ABC6 reports that four were injured in the two-car, head-on collision. Three were removed from the vehicle after 20 minutes of work by local firefighters. That was always a tricky area. Those cars coming into or out of Swedesford are lucky if they can pull in or out of there depending on the time of day. Too many people are in the wrong lanes or not stopping at the red lights at the new bypass entrance. The curve is too tight also. Very awkward.   more ›

Two Injured in 3-Car Crash in Montgomery

A female driver of a Hyundai Sonata and her female passenger were transported for treatment following a Wednesday afternoon accident at Horsham and Stump roads

North Penn Life reports two women were injured in a Wednesday afternoon three-vehicle crash at Stump and Horsham roads. Around 12:45 p.m., a gold Chevrolet Blazer that was west on Horsham Road rear-ended a white Hyundai Sonata, which was pushed into a white Dodge Dakota pickup truck, according to the article. The driver of the Blazer failed to slow down for slow-moving traffic on Horsham Road, according to reports. The passenger of the Hyundai had to be rescued from the vehicle, according to reports. The passenger and the driver of the Hyundai were injured and taken by Volunteer Medical Service Corps to Abington Memorial Hospital, according to the article. Abington Health Buys North Penn VNA

A letter of intent to buy the 93-year-old nonprofit was signed Friday, Nov. 2. The partnership was done in preparation for Obamacare

By April 2013 — and in preparation for Obamacare — Abington Health will have acquired nonprofit North Penn Visiting Nurse Association. Officials from both Abington Health and North Penn VNA signed a letter of intent Friday, Nov. 2. The amount of purchase was not released. Abington Health is the umbrella corporation that owns Abington Memorial Hospital and Lansdale Hospital. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, North Penn VNA's net income dropped from $626,993 to $277,787 in year ending June 30, 2011, as reported in its Form 990 tax return. North Penn VNA had $6.7 million in revenue, as of June 30, 2011, according to the article. The North Penn VNA employs about 100 nurses who provide home care and hospice. Woman Sideswiped, Injured as She Enters Car in West Point

A West Point woman in her 60s was sideswiped and injured as she entered her red Honda Civic EX after coming out of West Point Post Office Tuesday afternoon. The woman, whose name was not available at the scene, was taken by Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment for head lacerations, according to Upper Gwynedd Township Officer Ted Caiola. Alleged Burglar Hospitalized After Jumping Off Roof

A Towamencin man who police allege was trapped inside a home he burglarized on Derstine Avenue in Lansdale was injured after jumping off a roof while escaping from police. He remains hospitalized at Abington Memorial Hospital and an arrest warrant has been issued, police said. Bennie Rockeem Hall, 25, of the 700 block of Weikel Road, Towamencin, is awaiting arrest and arraignment on the following charges: Hall previously pleaded guilty to a 2009 retail theft in Lansdale in January 2010, according to court records. Boy Injured After Running into Car at Main and Broad Streets

The boy was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment Thursday afternoon

A 12-year-old boy from the 100 block of East Main Street in Lansdale was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon after he ran into a car near the intersection of Main and Broad streets. Police will not release the names of juveniles involved in incidents. Due to HIPAA laws, Abington Memorial Hospital will not release the status of the youth without a name. Lansdale Police responded to call at 3:15 p.m. of a pedestrian struck near Broad and Main streets. According to police, witnesses saw the boy run west across Broad Street from the Lukoil parking lot toward Rite Aid. Driver Remains in Critical Condition One Week Later

Benjamin J. Marchese, 47, of the 1500 block of Ivywood Way, Towamencin, remains in critical condition at Abington Hospital following an accident the evening of March 8 on Troxel Road. Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that Marchese was traveling southbound on Troxel Road, toward Sumneytown Pike, when he somehow lost control of his pickup truck, struck several mailboxes along the roadway, and struck a guiderail in front of Seventh Day Adventist Church. The impact with the guiderail caused the pickup to overturn onto its roof, then its driver's side, traveling about 75 feet before coming to a rest back on its wheels near Carriage Way and a bridge transversing a creek next to the church. Renee Tucci, of Walnut Street, allegedly stabbed 31-year-old man in an apartment above the bar. She was remanded to jail after failing to post bail.

A Lansdale woman remains at Montgomery County Correctional Facility for her alleged involvement in a stabbing in an apartment above Junction House Pub early Saturday morning in Lansdale. Renee Tucci, 31, of the 100 block of Walnut Street, is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possessing instrument of a crime and related charges, police said. Tucci was arraigned before District Judge Cathleen Rebar, and bail was set at $50,o00 cash, police said. Tucci failed to post bail and was taken to prison. A preliminary hearing is set for March 15 at 11 a.m. before District Judge Harold Borek.
