Advertising for On-Tap Philly boasts 24 beers on tap, a new menu and nightly events.
UPDATE: Since our initial posting yesterday, we have discovered a "help wanted" ad on Craigslist, which lists further features and hints at a relatively close opening date. The listing states that On-Tap Philly will be a "Philly-themed" bar and restaurant which offers up to 72 beers on tap. The listing also reiterates the plan to feature nightly events, use of the outdoor patio, and adds that the location will have over 15 televisions. On the hiring and service side, the listing details what they're looking for in prospective bartenders, hostesses and line cooks. It also states that training will begin in the coming week. Two Ambler residents file suit against Anheuser-Busch for watering down its beer.
They pound more than a case of Bud a week, between the two of them, and they have been for four years. But, when two Ambler (Montgomery County) brothers couldn't get drunk from the suds, they decided it was Bud's fault. According to multiple media reports, brothers Thomas and Gerald Greenberg have filed a federal lawsuit alleging that brewer "InBev's Anheuser-Busch," the U.S. makers of products such as Budweiser and Michelob. Their claim? The beer doesn't pack the 5 percent punch of alcohol content it promises. According to a report in the Morning Call, Busch "denies that it shortchanges guzzlers when it comes to that 5.0 percent." Law enforcement continues to investigate the death of Natalie Marella, whose body was found in a cornfield in New Hanover Township in August of last year.
Investigators still aren't certain how an Ambler woman died last year and are asking the public for help. They want to know who Natalie Marella was with in the hours before her body was discovered near a cornfield in New Hanover Township on Aug. 29, 2012. While the investigation continues into the death of the 26-year-old Marella, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office has announced the findings of the investigation into her cause of death. The Montgomery County Coroner determined that a seizure disorder caused Marella's death, according to a press release. The release also notes that she had a head injury, which it describes as a "significant condition." A toxicology report showed no significant findings. While officials reached…

The ever-changing Chamaeleon Boutique in Ambler is celebrating their 5 year anniversary in February.
The name "Chamaeleon" truly fits the Ambler boutique that continues to change with the season. Rosa Zeibari said when Chamaeleon Boutique opened in Ambler five years ago, there were a number of boutiques, however, they all closed shortly after Chamaeleon opened. Today, she said there have been a lot of good changes in the borough, with more boutiques moving in, a variety of restaurants, and lots of events in town to keep the community excited. In the past five years, Zeibari said she and her sister and co-owner, Ani Kech, have grown in the business and have learned what they are good at and have learn what to look for and what to train employees in to fulfill the vision of the store. Finn McCool's hiring has been postponed in wake of co-owner's murder
Update, 6:48 p.m. Friday In the wake of co-owner Joe Canazaro's murder in Hilltown on Friday, hiring has been put on hold, per Finn McCool's Facebook update. Earlier Story Finn McCool's in Ambler has been closed since May 1, 2012, when an exterior wall facing Spring Garden St. collapsed into the street. On Thursday evening, Finn McCool's posted on their Facebook page that the restaurant and bar is hiring and accepting applications. Applicants can stop into the restaurant on Monday, Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 34 E. Butler Pike restaurant in Ambler. Artisan-made accessories and jewelry for all ages at Armario, with their new location on Main Street in Ambler.
One of the newest business to open in Ambler is Armario, run by friends and locals Vanessa Good and Theresa Galletta. The store carries handmade and artisan-made jewelry, handbags and accessories. Galletta said that most of the items are made in the US and the rest are fair trade. Many of the artisans she said are women and they all have stories to tell, support their communities, or support organizations that help women. "Each one of our artisans has a story," said Galletta. Unlike mass produced items, each item at Armario is unique. A number of their artisan use repurposed items. They carry a line of handbags made from repurposed magazines, and a line of necklaces created using antique buttons. Armario even carries two lines that are …

Ambler Restaurant Week ends Jan. 27
Ambler Restaurant Week runs Jan. 20 through Jan. 27 this year, with nearly 15 local restaurants participating. With pre-fixe menus at some of Ambler's favorite restaurant's and deals at Ambler's favorite lunch spots. Favorites, like Massa, Trax, Dettera, and From the Boot will be offering three-course, pre-fixe menus for dinner, and Bridget's will even be offering a two-course lunch menu. Costa's Deli and Sweet Briar Cafe will be offering deals on some of the areas favorite meals, like buy two hoagies get one free. There are only a few days left to take advantage of these offers. 2013 — The Year of the Skate Park Lansdale Parks and Recreation Chairwoman Mary Fuller has dubbed this year the year when Lansdale Borough brings a skate park to the community. The committee discussed its early progress on development of such a park Wednesday night. The borough is currently in the "learning mode" and "exploring mode" for the skate park. What was revealed at that meeting — Five potential sites for the park, with the jointly-owned Schweiker Park on the list. Lansdale Parks and Recreation Director Carl Saldutti is meeting with the Hatfield Township Park Board on Monday to update them on the borough's plan. A Lansdale man and an Ambler man have been arrested and charged in two armed home invasions that occurred on the 700 block of Willow Street in October 2012 in Lansdale — and it was the use of a stolen iPhone that led to their arrest. A third suspect, Zakarias Hailemicael, 22, whose last known address was the 2400 block of Whitpain Hills Drive in Blue Bell, has a warrant for his arrest for his involvement, but remains at large, police said.
