Commissioners partner with GVF TMA to observe national initiative on Friday.
Exercise. Environment. Fun. The day is intended to really combine them all. The Montgomery County Commissioners along with the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Authority (GVF TMA) will team up to bring National Bike To Work Day to Montgomery County. "Communities in Motion, a GVF TMA Foundation will organize a group bike ride to observe National Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 17," said Maureen Farrell COO of Communities in Motion. "This will mark the second annual bike to work day with the Montgomery County Commissioners." A teenager suffered an ankle injury Thursday afternoon in an accident at North Broad and East Second in Lansdale
A Penndale eighth grader on a bike and a North Penn school bus collided at the intersection of East Second and North Broad streets in Lansdale Thursday afternoon. The teen suffered an ankle injury and was taken by Volunteer Medical Service Corps to Lansdale Hospital, according to The Reporter. The teen's identity has not been released. According to the article, the bus was positioned as if the driver was attempting a right turn onto Second from Broad. A black sneaker remained in the spokes of a bent bicycle wheel, according to the article. There were no other injuries, according to reports. Read more about this accident at this link.
