Penndale seventh-grader Matthew Knoebel is surrounded by love and generosity. In October 2009, Sandy Murphy received a bone marrow transplant from a donor on the bone marrow registry. On Sunday, her son Owen gave back to the registry in an incredible way. With family and friends in attendance, Owen hosted a bone marrow registry drive at the Corpus Christi Church in Upper Gwynedd. He manned the front door from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., greeting everyone with an eager handshake and a smile. When asked about the reasoning behind the drive, Owen explained that his mother was fortunate to find a donor match in the registry, and that "many times, matches are hard to find."
