Four teams totaling 19 boys and girls from the Indian Valley and North Penn regions competed Tuesday night
Tuesday night was CYO Night at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, and four Corpus Christi CYO track and field teams gave valiant efforts in the 4x100 relays. The teams were comprised of boys and girls from fourth to eighth grades. Students weren't just from Corpus Christi Parish School; they came from North Penn schools, Souderton Area schools and Methacton schools. The Corpus Christi teams only competed against other CYOs, said Coach Rob Greve. "Every year, we have a big enough parish to take 20 or so kids. This year we are taking 18," Greve said. All in all, 115 Philadelphia Archdiocese parishes and schools attended CYO Night. There were 406 teams, totaling 1,624 athletes. The top nine teams head to the Relay finals, Greve said. The …

It's going to be REALLLLLLLY nice out today. Check out four other things going on out there.
1. It's going to be really nice out today. Like shorts-and-T-shirt, iced-tea-and -lemonade, get-those-chairs-and-tables-for-the-back-porch-ready, leave-the-windows-open-and-screen-door-showing nice. The forecast calls for partly cloudy with a high near 83. There's a low chance of showers, but that changes later this evening as thunderstorms are predicted. The low will be near 65. 2. The North Penn School Board holds a Education/Community/Policy Committee meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at the ESC. 3. North Penn boys varsity track races against Quakertown at North Penn High School at 3:45 p.m. 4. A sophomore struggles with new experiences she is facing with boys at her high school.
Dear Lizzie, I just began high school and am coming to the end of my sophomore year. High school is a whole different world to me than middle school. In middle school, my friends and I would go out with guys and kiss and stuff, but that was about it. But it seems like this year, everything is different. All of my friends are hooking up with upperclassmen boys, especially boys that drive to school and are taking things to a different level. One of my friends gives the senior that drives her to school oral sex almost every day on the way home from school, and they aren't even in a relationship. Boys in this same group of friends have made advances to me to give them oral sex, and so far I haven't done it and kept it at flirting and stuff. …

A look back on the wins and losses in North Penn and Lansdale Catholic sports
The North Penn softball team keeps finding different ways to win. After picking up 6-0 victory over Souderton to start the week, the Maidens went to extra innings before beating Hatboro-Horsham in eight innings, 2-1. When the Maidens faced Ridley in non-league action on Thursday, it took a suicide squeeze to end a 10-inning marathon. North Penn took home a 3-2 win as Michelle Rauch laid down the squeeze bunt in the extra frame. The North Penn baseball team is now 6-2 after splitting a pair of games this week. North Penn downed Souderton, 3-1, before losing to Central Bucks South, 8-3. The Knights are now 6-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play. The North Penn Girls Lacrosse team continues to impress. The Maidens picked up two victories …

The key is keeping the team focused, Coach Ron Hassler said
Baseball has the dog days of August. The boys basketball team at North Penn has its dog days in January. There is excitement when the season opens in December. There is also the thrill of the playoffs at the end of February and the early part of March. For Knights coach Ron Hassler, the key is keeping his team focused in January as the Knights look to keep pace in what is shaping up to be a tight conference race. “This is the time of the year that we call the dog days,” said Hassler. “It’s where some teams separate themselves from others. I would think over the next two weeks we’ll have a better idea of who is in a real position to make a run at the title.” The Knights are one of three teams batting for the top …

Confused might also want to keep in mind that whatever she and this boy do together, will probably be known throughout the school. She may think it's private, but he may not. Her sexuality is her own, to do with as she sees fit, but you are absolutely right when you encourage her to recognize her own worth and value it. Our physical bodies, our minds, our hearts are all precious - they need to be…   more ›
