Body Found in Canal Matches Missing Woman's Description

Authorities recovered a body from the canal in Lambertville that matches the description of Sarah Majoras.

A body found Wednesday in the canal in Lambertville matches the description of missing New Hope bartender Sarah Majoras, authorities announced. Anthony P. Kearns said investigators will work with the medical examiner's office to positively identify the body. But Kearns, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor heading the investigation into Majoras' disappearance, said officials will continue to work to discover what happened to her. "There’s nothing to indicate that there’s been foul play," Kearns said during a 6 p.m. press conference, the second of the day. He implored the public to come forward with more information that might help them determine exactly what happened to the well-loved woman, whom friends have described as sassy and strong. …

After 42 Years, Brady Hanging Up His Holster

Route 202 Parkway bridge to be named in honor of Montgomery Township's outgoing police chief

It was March 25, 1970.  Richard Nixon was in the White House. Jimi Hendrix released his nine-minute rambling jam, "Machine Gun." Mail began to trickle back into mailboxes around the country as more than 50,000 postal workers ended a two-week strike. The government announced a plan to reduce troop level in Vietnam by 50 percent by the end of 1971. And in a little town about 12 miles north of Philadelphia, Richard J. Brady, only recently having been discharged from the military himself, joined the Montgomery Township Police Department.  More than 42 years later, Chief Richard J. Brady will retire, having seen the police department he's led since 1982 almost quadruple in size as it entered the modern, technology-assisted era of law …
