Elm Terrace Caretaker Waives Felony Theft Charges to County Court

Diane Witynski, 55, of Hatfield Village Apartments, faces eight felony charges related to thefts she allegedly committed while employed as a caretaker at the Lansdale nursing home

A Hatfield woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and cash while employed as a caretaker at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale waived her preliminary hearing at the District Court of Judge Harold Borek Tuesday afternoon. Diane Witynski, 55, of Hatfield Village Apartments, filed Sept. 24 to waive her hearing, according to court records. Witynski faces four felony charges of theft by unlawful taking and four felony charges of receiving stolen property, filed against her by Lansdale Police for four theft incidents at the Lansdale nursing home at Seventh and Broad streets. Elm Terrace Caretaker Charged With Felony Theft

Police said Diane Witynski, of Hatfield Village Apartments, allegedly stole jewelry and money from four elderly residents at the Lansdale nursing home

An Elm Terrace Gardens caretaker has been arrested by Lansdale Police and charged with felony theft of jewelry and money from four elderly residents at the Lansdale nursing home. Diane Witynski, 55, of Hatfield Village Apartments in Hatfield Township, is charged with: Police arrested Witynski on Sept. 1, police said. Police said on four dates in late July and early August officers took theft reports from four separate residents of Elm Terrace Gardens. In three of the thefts, jewelry was stolen estimating $5,380, police said. The fourth theft involved the stealing of $80 in cash, police said. All thefts occurred in the rooms of elderly victims, police said.  A check of the employe schedule revealed that Witynski was the one employee working…

Police arrest former Upper Gwynedd woman in $370K fraud of Hatfield man

Arrested in New York following extradition from Philippines

Authorities this morning arrested a former Upper Gwynedd woman who is charged with stealing more than $370,000 from a disabled Hatfield man for whom she was caring. Janet Gitney, 57, was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City, where she arrived after being extradited from the Phillipines. She was charged in late September with theft by deception, forgery, misapplication of entrusted property, fraud and insolvency, and related charges, according to a statement released this afternoon by the office of Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman.
