Geri Siegler is the new borough treasurer, replacing resigning treasurer Carol Zellers. Siegler said she lives in the west ward and was a treasurer with a professional organization for safety and environmental compliance. "I look forward to working with borough council and the finance department," she said. Lansdale Farmers' Market has requested to use the parks and recreation building for four Saturdays in winter, but scheduling may be an issue
The Lansdale Farmers’ Market is looking to winterize its event for a period of four months come January. A decision on whether or not it can use the Parks and Recreation Building on a Saturday for four consecutive months is still up in the air. Candy Pack, a committee member on the farmers’ market, wrote a letter to borough parks and recreation director Carl Saldutti about using the activity room at the Parks and Recreation Building for one Saturday a month, from 9 a.m. to noon, on a four-month regular basis. Saldutti said the parks and recreation department wants to provide the room to as many users as it can, like Scout groups. Carol Zellers, a real estate agent with Re/Max Central in Lansdale, has submitted her resignation as treasurer for Lansdale Borough, effective Dec. 31. “I’m resigning because it’s time. Four years is enough,” she said. “That was a big volunteer commitment every week and I was happy to do it, but it’s time for someone else to have the opportunity, to see what goes on, how the borough works and to appreciate just how hard these people work.” Zellers announced her resignation at the Oct. 19 council meeting. “This, in and of itself, is entirely unremarkable, because people come, people serve and people go.
