A Hatfield Township man, charged with faking a report in January of an armed robbery in Hatfield Borough's Centennial Park, had two misdemeanor charges held for Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Wednesday morning in Souderton District Court. William Graef III, 22, of Oak Road in Hatfield Township, faces misdemeanor charges of unsworn falsification to authorities and false reports to law enforcement authorities, according to police. Graef III has a formal arraignment in county court on March 23, according to court documents. Graef III made up the story, police said, so he had a reason to tell his parents why he did not have the $98 he was supposed to have in his possession. William Graef III, 22, of the 2000 block of Oak Road, faces misdemeanor charges of unsworn falsification to authorities and false reports to law enforcement authorities, at a Feb. 6 preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser, police said. An armed robbery reported in Hatfield Borough's Centennial Park on Wednesday, Jan. 23, was a lie, police said, and they have charged a man for the false police report. William D. Graef III, 22, of the 2000 block of Oak Road, Hatfield, was charged with misdemeanor unsworn falsification to authorities and misdemeanor false reports to law enforcement authorities, police said. Hatfield Township Police are searching for a man in his 30s who robbed a man at gunpoint of cash and property under a bridge in Centennial Park in Hatfield Borough Wednesday night. The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 150 to 200 pounds, wearing blue jeans, tan work boots, and a black-hooded sweatshirt, police said.
