Lansdale Woman, Not Child, Fell From Moving Vehicle Monday in Whitpain

Contrary to early scanner and media reports, a child was not the victim Monday on Yost Rd. in Whitpain Township

On Monday, July 9, around 5 p.m., Whitpain emergency services were dispatched to Yost Rd. in the area of Guiteras Dr. for the report of a child that fell from a moving vehicle. Early scanner and media reports were incorrect, stating a 12-year-old girl had jumped from a moving vehicle after arguing with her family. On Tuesday, Whitpain Police Department released a statement that, while original dispatch reports said a child fell from a vehicle, when officers arrived on scene, they found a 42-year-old female, from Lansdale, lying in the roadway. The victim was being attended to by the driver of the vehicle and witnesses. The woman sustained head injuries from the fall and was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital by JeffStat Helicopter.

James Lee Troutman is currently being arraigned before a district judge.

James Lee Troutman, 24, of 203 Chestnut St. in Souderton, was charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as kidnapping and sexual assault charges, in connection with the found body of 9-year-old Skyler Kauffman, of the same address (an apartment complex). Evidence included Troutman's confession of choking the victim and hitting her head against the floor. Kauffman died of asphyxiation and blunt-force trauma, according to reports. An Amber Alert was called last night, when Kauffman's parents did not see her at dinner. She had been playing, according to police, with friends in the apartment complex's parking lot. Gwynedale Community Rocked by Murder Allegations

Neighbors of David Rapoport are shocked to learn of multiple murder charges against a man described as "quiet" and "friendly."

On an ordinary day, the Gwynedale townhome community resembles an ideal suburban neighborhood, with residents jogging, walking their dogs or working on their homes.  Last Thursday, however, the tightly knit community was turned upside-down as police and state officials descended upon Browning Court. “I didn’t know what happened. I just saw the police and people in suits,” said a neighbor who lived a few homes away. As the days passed and word spread, residents of Browning Court were shocked to learn that their neighbor, David Rapoport, had been arraigned and charged with two counts of murder in the death of his former co-worker, Jennifer Snyder. Snyder, who was two months pregnant at the time of her murder, was found dead in a wooded area …
