County Approves $227K for Lansdale Road Project

Lansdale Borough had applied for a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $260,675 for West Eighth Street. Commissioners approved an application for about $40,000 less than requested

Montgomery County Commissioners at its Thursday meeting approved a $227,370 allocation to Lansdale Borough for its West Eighth Street Community Development Block Grant project. The borough had initially applied for $260,675, according to county documents. The CDBG project will rehabilitate and reconstruct West Eighth Street from Cannon Avenue to Maple Avenue. This includes new concrete sidewalks and curbing and new storm sewer pipe and inlets. There is also a complete review of the street with potential upgrades to gas and water lines paid by the respective utility companies. Borough Considering CDBG Application for West Fourth Street

Completion of a Community Development Block Grant project on Sixth Street is on hiatus until temperatures get warmer.

A road improvement project on Sixth Street in the borough is on hiatus until proper temperatures come around to pave the roadway. The borough may also apply for a Community Development Block Grant for road improvements on West Fourth Street between Broad and Walnut streets, according to public works director Jake Ziegler. Ziegler said new applications are due by April 1.
