Corpus Christi Will Retain Name, Goretti Still Closing

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced that Corpus Christi Parish School will not be renamed Most Blessed Sacrament

Corpus Christi Parish School will remain as such in the wake of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's decision to merge certain parish schools. According to The Reporter Online, Corpus Christi will not become a regional school and renamed Most Blessed Sacrament. The school will retain its name and remain open with same staff and uniforms. St. Maria Goretti School in Hatfield Township will close by the end of the year, according to Meredith Wilson, spokesperson for the Archdiocese. In the article, Wilson said families of St. Maria Goretti School can choose to either send their students to Corpus Christi Parish School in Upper Gwynedd or Mater Dei Regional School. Mater Dei will be the new name of the school at the site of St. Stanislaus Parish …

Corpus, Goretti Becoming Most Blessed Sacrament

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia approved the new name of the combined St. Maria Goretti and Corpus Christi Catholic School

Corpus Christi Catholic School + St. Maria Goretti School = Most Blessed Sacrament Regional Catholic School The Archbishop of Philadelphia has given the Amen on the new name of the combined schools. Bradley Schlegel of The Reporter Online reported Tuesday that a press release released Tuesday afternoon from the school’s Regional Implementation Team – consisting of parents and parish officials – said the name “defines the Eucharistic foundation of the Corpus Christi and St. Maria Goretti parish communities.” “We thought this name made the most sense,” said Amy Herron, parent at the school and a member of the team, according to the story. St. Rose Goes and Goretti, Gone

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced school closures and mergers today

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has announced that, locally, St. Rose of Lima Parish School, in North Wales, will merge with St. Stanislaus Parish School in Lansdale at the St. Stanislaus site. St. Maria Goretti, in Hatfield Township, will merge with Corpus Christi School in Upper Gwynedd, at Corpus Christi. The Archdiocese made the formal announcement at 4 p.m., streamed live at http://archphila.org. Lansdale Catholic High School was saved in the closures and mergers, and The Reporter in Lansdale garnered comment from that school's principal and president. NPSD, LC, St. Stans. School Opening Two Hours Late

All North Penn School District schools will open two hours late today. There will be no AM kindergarten. The Extended School Care Program will open at 9 a.m. Bridle Path/Walton Farm PM kindergarten hours will be 12:12 p.m. to 3 p.m. All other elementary PM kindergarten hours will be 12:47 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. Lansdale Catholic is opening two hours late. St. Stanislaus Parish School is on a two-hour delay. The school's CARES Program will begin at 8 a.m. Corpus Christi School is opening two hours late. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer School and Pre-School will open on a two-hour delay. AM kindergarten and pre-school classes are cancelled.
