Costco Donates a Ton of Turkeys to Montco Police Food Drive

Employees of Costco donated 84 turkeys to Montgomery Township Police for the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Food Drive. The turkeys were then dropped off at the Salvation Army in Norristown for distribution

Employees of Costco Wholesale in Montgomery Township on Dec. 4 donated 84 turkeys, totaling 2,000 pounds or one ton, toward the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Food Drive. The turkeys were given to Officer Jim Matlack of Montgomery Township Police for donation to the food drive. Matlack, in turn, delivered the turkeys to Salvation Army in Norristown to be distributed to food banks in the county. The county Law Enforcement Food Drive runs to Dec. 20.  To donate, call the Norristown Salvation Army at 610-275-4183.

Odwalla Chocolate Protein Drink Recalled

Odwalla Inc. said the beverage has caused severe allergic reactions to consumers with peanut and tree nut allergies

Odwalla Inc. has issued a recall and announced it has removed from sale Odwalla Chocolate Protein Monster beverage, according to a press release. Consumers with peanut and tree nut allergies have reported severe allergic reactions after consumption. Four consumers have contacted Odwalla to report allergic reactions after drinking the product, according to Odwalla. The consumers are not known to be allergic to soy and milk, but report being allergic to peanuts and/or tree nuts. The affected product has a use by date prior to and including 23 MAY 2012.
