National Drug Ring Shut Down by Montco Law Enforcement, Police Say

Operation 'Weed Whacker' nets eight arrests, four firearms, over $700,000 in cash and 400 pounds of high-grade marijuana

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman has announced eight arrests in connection with Operation "Weed Whacker," which sought to bring down a multimillion-dollar marijuana trafficking ring. According to the press release, the DA's Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) began an investigation in September of 2012 into the trafficking of high-grade marijuana in Whitpain Township. Two months into the investigation, detectives learned that hundreds of pounds of marijuana were being distributed throughout southeastern Pennsylvania by two brothers, identified as Dennis Frederick, 40, of Delaware County, and Jeffrey Frederick, 32, of Philadelphia, the release states. Undercover Police Make Drug Arrest at Local Bar

Michael Jerome Aye, 25, of Lansdale, is facing multiple drug-related charges after the staff of a local bar called police to report suspicious activity occurring in the bathroom.

A 25-year-old Lansdale man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly sold cocaine to undercover police in the bathroom of a local bar. Michael Jerome Aye is charged with felony possession with intent to distribute, felony distribution and sales of a non-controlled substance as a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to us drug paraphernalia and receipt in commerce. Aye entered the front door of Montella's Sports Bar around 3:45 p.m., when a staff member recognized him as a previous customer who had been physically chased away by the bar's management during a previous visit.
