Alleged Easter Sunday shooter Karim Walker, of Philadelphia, had his hearing continued to a later date. He remains in prison on $500,000 bail.
Witnesses failed to show up for court in Lansdale Thursday in the attempted murder case against alleged Easter Sunday shooter Karim Walker, of Philadelphia, according to The Reporter. One of those witnesses was an alleged target of Walker, 20, of the 5000 block of Boudinot Street, according to the article. Thus, Walker’s preliminary hearing was continued to later date. Walker remains in Montgomery County prison on $500,000 bail. Walker’s attorney told The Reporter he had a “gut feeling” that the witnesses would not show up for the hearing. Ambler Police said Salvatore Rocco Jr., 22, of the 400 block of Church Road, Lansdale, was arrested Nov. 20 on a failure to appear warrant in Montgomery County, according to The Times Herald. Rocco Jr. was stopped at 10:15 p.m. in the borough. He was wanted by Montgomery County Sheriff’s for failure to appear at Montgomery County court for a misdemeanor DUI charge,according to court records. Rocco Jr. was transported to Ambler Police Department and released to the county sheriff’s department, according to the article.

A pregnant co-defendant in a Montgomery Township armed robbery case — who is also the sister of a second co-defendant and girlfriend of a third co-defendant— failed to appear a second time at the court of District Judge Andrea Duffy in Montgomeryville on Thursday to testify as an eyewitness in her alleged role in the robbery, according to Dan Sokil of The Reporter. Diep Thi Luu is the sister of suspect Pau Chau, of Philadelphia, and the girlfriend of Cleveland Ford Jr., with whom she has a child. According to the article, Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Teresa Kibelstis asked for a continuance due to the absence of Luu. Luu is expected to give birth in early October.
