Walsh, McDonnell Named Chair, Vice Chair of Montgomery Township

At Monday's reorganization meeting in Montgomery Township, a new chairman and vice chairman were appointed. Supervisors also appointed and swore in new officials and emergency personnel

During a reorganization meeting Monday night, Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Joe Walsh as the new chairman of the board for 2013, and Jeff McDonnell as vice chairman, according to an article by Dan Sokil in The Reporter. Walsh presented outgoing chairwoman Candyce Chimera with a plaque and thanked her for the “wonderful job in 2012.” He touted her “It’s Finally Done Fun Run” on the 202 Parkway as her biggest accomplishment, according to the article. Walsh and McDonnell enter 2013 with a priority to lead the township toward the groundbreaking of a future community center, the article states. No Injuries in Two-Car Accident in North Wales

A Nissan SUV and a Range Rover collided at Third Street and Walnut Street during Wednesday rush hour

A Nissan SUV and a Range Rover collided at the intersection of North Third Street and East Walnut Street Wednesday evening during rush hour in North Wales Borough. The Nissan sustained major front end damage to the driver side. The Range Rover sustained major damage to its front and passenger side. Walnut Street is blocked as North Wales Police assess the scene. North Penn Volunteer Fire Co. Fire Police is redirecting traffic. There were no injuries at the scene, according to reader Will Simcox of North Wales.

Supervisors approve grant for FDMT

Supervisors also accepted the certification and training of volunteers and fire police members for 2011

The jobs of the men and women of the Fire Department of Montgomery Township got a little boost recently by supervisors. The Fire Department of Montgomery Township has received new funding in order to purchase emergency equipment, and it has also notified supervisors that all volunteer firefighters and fire police members are trained and certified for 2011. At a recent supervisors meeting, supervisors accepted information on certification and training of department personnel. Director of Fire Services Bill Brightcliffe said per the Fire Services Agreement with the township, the fire department annually submits a letter from the fire chief to certify to the board that the volunteers and fire police members responding to calls for emergency …

Montgomery Township welcomes new fire police member

Supervisors re-appointed fire police members Monday night and welcomed one new one to the ranks

Montgomery Township re-appointed four fire police officers and welcomed one new members to the ranks for 2011 at the board of supervisors Monday night meeting. The township fire police is led by Capt. Robert Bailey and Lt. Bill Adams. Current officers include residents Maryanne Mogensen and Joel Silver.   Resident Rich Naylor was sworn in as a new fire police officer. Montgomery Township Director of Fire Services Bill Brightcliffe explained to the audience and board the functions of the fire police unit. "The volunteer service has two main functions: they handle traffic control at emergency incidents and they protect firefighters and police at emergency scenes from oncoming traffic," he said.
