A Philadelphia man who admitted to stealing aluminum forms from a Montgomery Township construction site was ultimately apprehended by a GPS device hidden in the forms. Brian Pierson, 40, of Spring Garden Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 11½ to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to felony theft, according to The Times Herald. Pierson must also serve three years’ probation and pay $13,295 in restitution to J. M. Pereira & Sons of Langhorne, Bucks County, according to the article. A Philadelphia man — who is headed to county trial on assault, harassment, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment charges — allegedly stalked and followed a Hatfield Township woman through a GPS that he put on her car and has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor and summary offenses by police. Clinton Lecroft Fishley, 53, of the 4900 block of North Broad Street, is charged with five misdemeanor counts of repeated stalking causing fear and harassment, five summary counts of harassment by following in a public place, a misdemeanor simple assault charge and a misdemeanor terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, according to court records. Police said about $160 worth of items stolen between April 21 and April 24
Towamencin Township Police said numerous items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 900 block of Stockton Court between 5 p.m. April 21 and 6 a.m. April 24. Reported stolen were a Garmin GPS unit, a sweatshirt and a pair of sunglasses. All items were valued at $160, police said. Police remind residents to always lock their vehicles overnight, even at your own residence, especially if valuable items are kept in the vehicles.

Police valued the items stolen at $3,000
Items were stolen from three unlocked or unsecured vehicles on Heritage and Continental drives in Towamencin overnight April 15 to April 16, police said. Police are investigating the reported thefts. Two vehicles were parked on Heritage Drive and the third on Continental Drive. Two laptop computers, a Garmin GPS, and an Apple iPod were reported stolen, police said. The items are valued at $3,000, police said. Police encourage residents to lock all vehicles at all times, especially if expensive items are kept in the vehicle. This applies to vehicles parked at respective residences.

Police advise to lock cars when keeping valuable items in them
It seems like common sense, but drivers continue to leave valuable items in unlocked cars, making them easy targets for thieves. Towamencin Police advise drivers to keep vehicles locked when parked unattended and not to store valuables inside vehicles, especially when said valuables are visible. Such is the case of three thefts from cars that occurred in the township between the overnight hours of Jan. 15 to Jan. 16. Police said $30 in change was stolen from a car parked on the 400 block of Shipwrighter Way. In a separate incident, two vehicles were entered on the 100 block of Arden Court, located in a development off Rittenhouse Road. If the thieves were any better, they would have easily stolen other auto parts from the vehicle. Given enough time, some syndicates would be able to strip the tires off, and take all the valuable parts of the car, leaving just the body. - http://www.carid.com   more ›
