Rabies Clinics Offered by Montgomery County

Various locations will host the summer project.

The Montgomery County Health Department (MCHD) will be conducting its annual Low-Cost Rabies Immunization Clinics on Saturdays in June for the the program's 22nd consecutive year. "As in previous years, these clinics are located throughout the county in order to ensure that resident pet owners have access to this disease prevention service," said Jessica Willingham, communications assistant for the Montgomery County Office of Communications. Attempted Burglary Reported at Pool Snack Stand

A burglary also occurred on the 2000 block of Kriebel Road

Towamencin Township Police said a burglar or burglars were unsuccessful in breaking into the snack stand at the Towamencin Pool Complex on Weikel Road between May 26 and May 28. Police said the burglar or burglars attempted to gain access to the building by drilling out several locks. Entry was not gained into the snack stand. In a separate incident, a burglary was carried out in a barn in the 2000 block of Kriebel Road betweeen May 20 and May 23, police said. A Troy-Built pressure washer valued at $300 was reported taken, polcie said. Entry was gained through an unsecured door, police said. Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle Tuesday Morning

The accident occurred at 6:21 a.m. at the intersection of Sumneytown Pike and Forty Foot Road.

A Lansdale man was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Sumneytown Pike and Forty Foot Road shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. According to a press release, the preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by Michael Darcy, 58, of Harleysville, was traveling southbound on Forty Foot Road when  it attempted to make a right-hand turn onto westbound Sumneytown Pike and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The victim, identified as John Longo, 68, of Lansdale, was taken by ambulance to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment. At the time of the incident, it was dark outside and fog conditions were present, the release states.  The accident remains under investigation by the Towamencin Township Police Department Traffic …

How Bad Has the Real Estate Market Been Over the Past Three Months?

A local real estate market report from last quarter 2011

What’s the real estate market been doing over the last three months (not counting January, of course)?  Well, according to the statistics compiled by Trend, the Multiple Listing Service, Montgomery County as a whole had more sales in the last quarter of 2011 than it did a year ago during the same time period.  To be exact, there were 1,633 homes sold from October to December 2011. That’s a 7.2 percent increase.  The supply of homes on the market decreased by 12.3 percent during the last quarter compared to the previous year, and it took on average 127 days to sell a home.  The time it took to sell increased by 11.3 percent.   So the last quarter of 2010, homes were on the market for an average of 15 days less than 2011.  That’s not so bad…

Police Release Sketch of Luring Suspect

The incident occurred Monday night in Franconia Township

Franconia Township Police are investigating a possible child luring incident that occurred Monday at 3:20 p.m. near Keller's Creamery Road and Indian Creek Road. Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect. According to a press release, a 12-year-old gilr told police she stepped off her school bus and noticed that a car was following her as she walked toward her home. The car pulled alongside the girl, and the driver rolled down the window and asked her if he could take her picture and if she would pose for him, police said. The girl ran to the safety of her nearby home as the car left the scene. The driver was described as a white male in his mid-40s to 50s. He had white, medium-length hair with sideburns. Luring Incident in Franconia Township

Police have notified Lower Salford Township and Telford Borough of the Tuesday incident

Franconia Township Police have informed area residents and the neighboring communities of Lower Salford Township and Telford Borough of a luring incident Tuesday afternoon. A 12-year-old girl was followed by a vehicle when she got off her school bus, and the driver pulled up next to her and asked her to pose for a picture.
