Philly Man Allegedly Stalked Hatfield Woman With GPS

Clinton Fishley, 53, is headed to Montgomery County trial on separate harassment, threats and assault charges from a November 2011 case in Hatfield Township

A Philadelphia man — who is headed to county trial on assault, harassment, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment charges — allegedly stalked and followed a Hatfield Township woman through a GPS that he put on her car and has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor and summary offenses by police. Clinton Lecroft Fishley, 53, of the 4900 block of North Broad Street, is charged with five misdemeanor counts of repeated stalking causing fear and harassment, five summary counts of harassment by following in a public place, a misdemeanor simple assault charge and a misdemeanor terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, according to court records. A gas station is proposed for development at Route 309 and North Broad Street in Hatfield Township

Congestion Alert! Blight Alert! Along Route 309 north on the south side of the SEPTA rail tracks, a developer has proposed building another large gas station and market — barely 100 yards from the Wawa gas station and market on the same side of the road! This developer does not seem to care that traffic along 309 and North Broad Street already gets backed up multiple times a day, and that the addition of a 20-pump "gas-n-go" will add to this congestion. Nor do they seem to care that a 24-hour gas station and market will bring with it safety concerns as well as light and noise pollution to the nearby families along Arbour Circle and Walnut Street. Orvilla Road Closed School Rd. to Maple Ave.

A downed utility pole is blocking traffic on East Orvilla Road

A downed utility pole and its powerlines have forced the closure of East Orvilla Road between School Road and Maple Avenue in Hatfield Township. The township said utility companies have been notified. Merel Road is closed as well. The township cautions drivers not to go around barricades and to find alternate routes.

Hatfield's Maple Ave. Bridge Closing Monday

The bridge is being replaced after identified as in need of repair by PennDOT inspectors

Drivers who use Maple Avenue in Hatfield daily will be detouring on E. Vine Street or Unionville Pike from Monday, Oct. 8 through New Year's Day. Construction will begin Oct. 8 on the Maple Avenue Bridge, which was identified  by PennDOT inspectors as in need of repair, according to an announcement from Hatfield Township. Either detour will take drivers to School Road in order to navigate the construction. A posted detour route will direct drivers around the construction. According to the township, positive weather conditions and quick turnaroun on beam fabrication could push the completion date forward.  Hatfield Township has made a detour map available at this link. Quakertown Man Victim in Fatal Crash on Route 309

A three-car collision occurred Thursday morning at Bethlehem Pike and Advance Lane in Hatfield Township. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and a second driver was airlifted for medical treatment.

UPDATE 10:45 P.M. Dr. Walter Hofman, coroner of Montgomery County, has identified the victim in the Thursday morning crash as Nathaniel Rocque, 25, of Quakertown. UPDATE THURSDAY 2 P.M. The male driver of a red Toyota Corolla died at the scene of an accident Thursday morning at Bethlehem Pike and Advance Lane in Hatfield. According to Dan Sokil of The Reporter, the driver was northbound on Bethlehem Pike/Route 309 and drifted into the inside southbound lane. The car was hit head-on by a silver Subaru Forester that was southbound on 309, according to the article. Elm Terrace Caretaker Charged With Felony Theft

Police said Diane Witynski, of Hatfield Village Apartments, allegedly stole jewelry and money from four elderly residents at the Lansdale nursing home

An Elm Terrace Gardens caretaker has been arrested by Lansdale Police and charged with felony theft of jewelry and money from four elderly residents at the Lansdale nursing home. Diane Witynski, 55, of Hatfield Village Apartments in Hatfield Township, is charged with: Police arrested Witynski on Sept. 1, police said. Police said on four dates in late July and early August officers took theft reports from four separate residents of Elm Terrace Gardens. In three of the thefts, jewelry was stolen estimating $5,380, police said. The fourth theft involved the stealing of $80 in cash, police said. All thefts occurred in the rooms of elderly victims, police said.  A check of the employe schedule revealed that Witynski was the one employee working…

'Larger than Life' Tournament to be Held in Hatfield

The annual volleyball tournament, in memory of local coach Glenn Szakal, will be held on Aug. 18.

The Larger than Life Memorial Fund will hold its 3rd Annual Volleyball Benefit on Aug. 18 at School Road Park at 9 a.m., and will feature a scholarship ceremony for a local North Penn High School graduate. The benefit is one of several initiatives put on by the Larger than Life Fund to raise money for scholarships and community programs in the memory of Glenn Szakal, an Indian Crest Middle School volleyball coach who died suddenly in 2009. “Glenn always put everybody first, and when he passed, it was like a big hole in all of our hearts, and we felt like we had to do something about it,” said Steve Szakal, Glenn’s cousin. “Our main goal is to keep giving back - we need to keep his giving going.” Larger than Life, with partner East Coast …

Felony Assault Charges Held for Eustace

The Lansdale man allegedly feigned suicide with an Airsoft rifle on a public street while at gunpoint with a Hatfield Township cop

Nicholas Eustace, 22, of the 900 block of Andover Road, heads to formal arraignment in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Aug. 1 on two charges of second-degree felony aggravated assault, felony criminal attempt at theft and numerous other misdemeanors after a preliminary hearing in Montgomeryville Tuesday. According to The Reporter Online, Judge Andrea Duffy kept bail at $250,000 cash. Duffy also praised arresting Hatfield Township officer Keith Blank for his "amazing restraint" during the incident. Blank responded to a May 24 call from county Emergency Services and Lansdale Police of a suicidal armed subject heading toward Moyer Road from Andover Road, according to the article. Convicted Burglar, Hatfield Woman Nabbed for Alleged Daytime Burglaries

Joshua Siringhaus, of Upper Gwynedd, and Kristin Leidy, of Hatfield Borough, were the two culprits in numerous daytime burglaries in several Montgomery and Bucks County municipalities, police said

An Upper Gwynedd man, who was convicted of and had spent time in prison for numerous burglaries in 2003 in Franconia and Lower Salford townships, has been nabbed again for alleged numerous daytime burglaries by Hatfield Township Police, along with his alleged female accomplice from Hatfield Borough. The female accomplice was convicted in 2007 on felony receiving stolen property charges in Hatfield Township and spent time in prison on the charges. Both have been charged in connection with numerous daytime burglaries since March in several Montgomery and Bucks County municipalities, according to police.
