Update: Wood Stove Possible Cause of Taylor Road Fire

Fire Department of Montgomery Township and several other companies responded to the Wednesday morning fire at 1505 Taylor Road.

The Montgomery Township Fire Marshal is investigating what role a wood pellet stove may have played in the cause of a fire Wednesday morning on Taylor Road. Township Director of Fire Services Rick Lesniak said damage to the home at 1505 Taylor Road was limited to the wall and the area around the stove. Lesniak said fire crews from Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Hilltown Fire Co., Hatfield Vol. Fire Co., Colmar Fire Co. and Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale arrived to the dwelling fire shortly after 9:28 a.m. Upon arrival, the fire was inside a wall at the rear of the home, he said. Dryer Source of House Fire in Montgomery Township

The second floor fire was brought under control quickly. The homeowners were a month away from closing on the home

The homeowners of 100 Cheswick Drive in Montgomery Township — who have lived there for about nine years and just entered into a contract to sell their home — didn't know what was going on Tuesday morning. "We heard the alarm and there was smoke in the house," said Landa Propato. Preliminary investigation showed the small fire was on the second floor laundry area of the home. Montgomery Township Fire Marshal Rick Lesniak told Michael Goldberg of The Reporter that the couple awoke to a fire alarm at 10:30 a.m. and saw smoke coming from behind the washer and dryer. Four Displaced in Bergey Road Fire

The fire broke out shortly after 3:45 p.m.

Update Hatfield Township Fire Marshal Mike Waldron told The Reporter that neither resident nor firefighter were injured. Upon arrival, flames were shooting out the left front and side windows, according to the article. The incident remains under investigation. Earlier Story Hatfield Vol. Fire Co. crews, along with assistance from Souderton Perseverance Fire Co. and Towamencin Vol. Fire Co., battled a house fire at 2075 Bergey Road Tuesday afternoon. The fire in the one-and-a-half-story Cape Cod was knocked down in about an hour. Crews could be seen extinguishing flames in the upstairs and downstairs right side of the home. Small Fire Contained to Front Corner of Hancock St. Home

Fairmount Fire Co. crews knocked down the fire in under a half hour

A small fire that broke out at 814 E. Hancock Street in Lansdale was brought under control in under a half hour by Fairmount Fire Co. firefighters. The front left corner of the home on the outside of the front porch was scorched and parts of the asbestos siding were removed to access the fire. The fire broke out a little after 7 p.m. and was under control by 7:40 p.m. Neighbors of Cypress Street and East Hancock Street witnessed the small fire. "We didn't know what it was," said resident Rich Frei. "We saw them bust the door in." Another resident on the scene said the smoke was coming from the side of the house, and fire crews had to take a piece of the siding off. Fire On Valley Forge Road Claims Two Dogs As Victims

The fire began on the first floor of the home shortly before 6:30 p.m

A fire broke out after 6 p.m. at the home of Matthew Budinko, located at 1876 Valley Forge Road near the intersection of Garfield Avenue in Towamencin. Jeremy Miller, who lives across the street from the home, saw smoke and ran over to see what was going on. "I came out to the lawn and saw smoke.  My neighbor Walt and I thought they were burning leaves," said Miller.  "Once we were in the backyard, we could hear the fire alarm going off, and we could see smoke coming out of the vents of the roof."
