How Does $5 Become $175? Just Add Lansdale

One collector is offering up some unique Lansdale finds on Ebay.

Ask anyone. How much is a $5 bill worth? The answer is usually obvious, right. It's worth $5. But, not this one. Currently up for sale on Ebay.com, one $5 bill is actually worth $175. How did that happen? Just take a $5 bill, add time, a dash of Lansdale, and voila. There you have it. Edelman's Coins & Stamps has the bill up for grabs on the popular auction site, Ebay. The company is in the "cash" business all the time. "Edelman's buys, sells and appraises all U.S. and worldwide coins, gold, and silver bullion, antiques, estate jewelry, paper money, stamps, postal history and picture postcards," explains the company's website. Montgomery County-Native Bradley Cooper Preps for Oscar Night

The Philadelphia-born, Jenkintown-raised Cooper is up for Best Actor.

As viewers make the popcorn and snuggle up on the couch, Bradley Cooper is likely checking his tux, checking the limo times and stretching for a long walk down the red carpet. The Oscars are this Sunday. The awards will air at 7 p.m. Sunday on ABC. Up for best actor is the Montgomery County-born and -raised Bradley Cooper. His work in "Silver Linings Playbook" has helped to net the flick eight nominees including best actor, best actress (his co-star Jennifer Lawrence), best picture and best director (David O. Russell). The Philadelphia-based flick was a nice return home for the local man, who grew up in Jenkintown and graduated from Germantown Academy. Lower Gwynedd Cops First To Spot NY Fugitive

Elected not to pursue Thomas Borden because of traffic, road conditions; Borden later died after being hit by a SEPTA train in Jenkintown

A murder suspect from New York state who police say died after he intentionally jumped in front of a SEPTA train in Jenkintown on Monday was originally spotted by Lower Gwynedd police, but the department elected not to pursue him, the department's chief said Monday night. Lower Gwynedd Chief of Police John Scholly said Thomas Borden, of Corning, NY, was spotted in a vehicle, identified by Abington police as a Ford pickup truck, near the intersection of Route 309 and Welsh Road. "We were all set. We followed him, we had multiple police departments set up to stop the car, but he wasn't stopping. There was no point in pursuing him even though we could have, according to regulations, because he was a violent offender," Scholly said. According …
