The Upper Gwynedd Township Police said the burglaries occurred on Second Street and Jones Avenue on Wednesday, March 6. An iPad mini, gold coins and jewelry were taken in both burglaries.
West Point residents in Upper Gwynedd Township should be vigilant and aware of two daytime burglaries that occurred in the area on Wednesday, March 6. Police are investigating two daytime residential burglaries that occurred on the 1900 block of Second Street and the 600 block of Jones Avenue. Police said both burglaries took place between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. March 6. In both burglaries, entry was made into each home via ground floor windows, police said. Items taken in the burglaries include several pieces of jewelry, an iPad mini and gold coins. Hatfield has a Grinch. When Hatfield resident Karen Pilat didn’t get what she wanted for Christmas 2011 from her husband, she said “Bah! Humbug!” with a butcher knife. Pilat, 51, of the 2400 block of Merel Drive, was convicted last week on charges that she menaced her husband with a butcher knife during a quarrel over his “poor gift choices,” according to The Pottstown Mercury. Pilat was convicted of a misdemeanor simple assault charge stemming from the Dec. 25, 2011 incident inside the home they once shared. In a non-jury trial, Pilat was acquitted of reckless endangerment, according to the article. She did attempt, through menace, to put her husband in fear of imminent serious bodily injury, but she did not place him in danger of death, …

Montgomery Township Police are seeking a suspect in the burglary of Costco Wholesale Warehouse at 740 Upper State Road that occurred in the early morning of Sept. 26. Police said the suspect hid inside the store until after closing. Police responded to a burglar alarm at Costco at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 26. Upon arrival, police found a door standing open, police said. A search of the building revealed that a burglary had occurred, police said. The suspect hid in the store until after closing. According to NBC10, as customers finished shopping, the suspect slipped in between products under a shelf. Pennsylvania State Police said unknown burglars broke a glass window from a wooden entry door of a home on the unit block of Reller Road in Salford Township and stole multiple gold pieces of jewelry from a jewelry box in the bedroom between 6 p.m. Aug. 22 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 23. The victim was a 74-year-old woman from Worcester, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

The burglary occurred on Dorchester Way April 1
Police said a home on the 100 block of Dorchester Way was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 30. The perpetrator or perpetrators forced entry through the front door, police said. A wooden jewelry box containing an undeterminted amount of jewelry was stolen, police said. Dorchester Way is located off of Candlewood Way near Rittenhouse Road.
