The influential wellness and healthy effects of Fusion Training Center are written on the wall — literally. Behind the boxing punchbags, and between the plyo boxes and battle ropes and Concept2 rowing machine and AirDyne Ergometer bike, is a wall adorned with bright paper patches proclaiming Fusion members' proudest accomplishments: "I did a full workout today" "Ran my second 5K since joining Fusion" "Beat my time by 2 minutes" "Down 3 pounds in 8 days" "Jogged 3.4 miles without stopping" The accomplishments are a result of Fusion Training Center owner John Trigg, 38, who specializes in one-on-one training at his workout facility that he opened in Montgomeryville in January 2012. The American Kenpo and kickboxing studio in Upper Gwynedd raised money for charity Save the Children Saturday.
AmeriKick Karate, at 1551 S. Valley Forge Road in the North Penn Marketplace, held a kick-a-thon last Saturday to raise money for Save the Children. The goal was to raise $3,000 for charity by collecting pledges and performing 1,000 kicks during the 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. event. In addition to this fundraising event, AmeriKick's Lansdale location held free classes, a complimentary self-defense seminar, giveaways, and a prize drawing. Top prizes were a free year of lessons and an iPod Nano engraved with the AmeriKick Lansdale name. Check out our video, and come back tomorrow for our Viewfinder gallery.
