Culture, Music Rock International Spring Fest

The 22nd annual event, sponsored by Lansdale Public Library, took over North Penn High School Saturday with multicultural flair, exotic foods and captivating performances.

For the 22nd year, the International Spring Fest on Saturday wowed all the senses of attendees both familiar and new. Those who came out to the North Penn High School in Towamencin for the Lansdale Public Library-sponsored multicultural extravanganza, shared in a different kind of culture shock. They watched and listened to captivating performances, dined on exotic cuisines, played worldly musical instruments, and gained an education on the lifestyles and mores that exist outside the borders of the United States, and right in our own backyards. Wood-Vine Connector Project Breaks Ground in Lansdale

Lansdale Borough Council were joined by State Sen. Bob Mensch Wednesday evening at Lansdale Public Library for the groundbreaking ceremony.

One of the biggest transportation improvement projects in Lansdale Borough is officially underway, following a special groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday evening at Lansdale Public Library. The $3.5M Wood-Vine Connector Project looks to improve traffic conditions by giving drivers a straightaway from Vine and Broad streets to Main and Wood streets, bypassing the SEPTA crossings and Main and Broad street intersection. Vine Street will be realigned between Broad Street and Susquehanna Avenue. Susquehanna Avenue will be realigned and merged into a more straight configuration with Derstine Avenue. Part-Time Help Wanted at Lansdale Library

The library is now hiring for a circulation desk attendant. Apply via email by April 30.

Lansdale Public Library wants to give you a job. The library at Vine Street and Susquehanna Avenue is seeking candidates for a part-time circulation desk attendant. The rate is $7.50 an hour for 15 to 20 hours a week, including some Saturdays. Interested candidates must be able to multitask and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced library environment. Library Memorial Garden Could Be Named After Late Patron

Lois Weber, 86, was a 38-year employee of Lansdale Library. She died in March in a car accident. The Lansdale Library Committee is mulling over the possibility of naming a future memorial garden after Weber.

Lansdale Library could be naming a proposed memorial garden after a longtime employee who passed away last month. According to Dan Sokil of The Reporter, Lois Weber’s name could grace the garden, which would be built near the library’s Susquehanna Avenue entrance as part of the Wood-Vine PCTI Connector project. Weber, 86, died in a car accident in March. She worked at the library for 38 years, according to library director Tom Meyer. Read more at this link.

Lansdale Employees Recognized for Anniversaries

Lansdale Borough Council has a tradition in recognizing employees for milestone anniversaries. That tradition was repeated Wednesday night.

Lansdale Borough Council President Matt West and Borough Manager Timi Kirchner Wednesday night recognized three borough employees for their milestone employments.
