Lansdale Parks and Recreation Committee has suggested moving the idea of a walking light display in White's Road Park at Christmastime to Madison Avenue
"Lights on Whites" is a concept inspired by Allentown's Lights on the Parkway at Christmastime and proposed by Lansdale residents Keith and Kristen Heffintrayer to the Economic Development Committee. At a recent parks and recreation committee meeting, the concept, while well-received by the committee, should be done elsewhere and not a White's Road Park. "We like the idea of using the park, but we like the idea of moving it to the downtown for a number of reasons. The first is the labor and the lights and what that would entail to set up the display in the park," said committee chairwoman Mary Fuller. Fuller said the "Lights on Whites" on Main Street and Madison Avenue would connect other Christmas events like the Santa House at Railroad …

The Lansdale Parking Authority Wednesday night approved the agreement of sale, paving the way for a parking garage, townhomes, condos and retail space to be built on the site
The two-acre parking lot behind the stores on West Main Street between Wood Street and Madison Avenue now belongs to BPG Properties, Ltd. On Wednesday night, the Lansdale Parking Authority approved an agreement of sale to the Yardley-based developer, according to an article in The Reporter Online. The parking authority chose BPG Properties as the developer in November 2011. BPG was chosen after Requests for Proposals netted six respondents. The parking authority ranked and rated those respondents, and cut the list down to two on October 12. On Nov. 9, interviews were made with the two respondents: BPG and Cedarwood Devleopment Inc. It's merely coincidence that BPG Properties has developed other locations with "Madison" in its name. It owns…

BPG Properties and Wulff Architects presented a concept plan for redevelopment of Madison Parking Lot into condos, townhomes and retail spaces
Talk a walk to Madison Parking Lot and try to envision what Wulff Architects, Tim Haahs parking design and BPG Properties, Ltd. have in mind for its redevelopment. Stand at the rear of 311 W. Main Street and The PEAK Center and look out toward the tracks. Now, imagine a six-story tall building – Century Plaza at Green Street and Main is five-stories tall – with 30,000-square-feet of retail space on the ground floor fronting Madison Avenue. The remaining floors above it – all condos. About 200 of them. Behind this building, along the tracks, will be a parking garage. The parking garage will be the spot where residents of these condos will park, as well as commuters and shoppers. There will be about 430 spaces, in total, in the garage. …

One of four species is unavailable because the trees died after they were tagged for Lansdale Borough
Three of the four species of trees set to be planted on Main Street and Madison Avenue in Lansdale are in the contractor’s possession and ready to go into the ground. However, one species is unavailable, as those tagged trees have died. At the public works committee meeting Wednesday, utilities director Jake Ziegler updated the committee on the streetscape street trees situation. He said the contractor was ready to plant the trees Thursday. “As far as I know, the trees for the area on Main Street and Madison Avenue are physically located in the town right now,” he said. “There’s a big possibility that the contractor can start as early as (Thursday) on the installation of the trees.” “So (The Reporter) got it right,” said councilman Jack …
