Fire Severely Damages Green Lane Home

The fire started in the back bedroom of a Hoppenville Road home just after noon on Wednesday.

Police, EMS and firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Hoppenville Road in Green Lane, Marlborough Township, shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a building fire. According to a Red Hill Fire Police official, the blaze started in a back bedroom. "The back part of the house, there's nothing left," the official said. On the scene, responders found the home engulfed in smoke. The family living in the home were evacuated while firefighters battled the blaze, which consumed the building. No one was reported injured, but some family pets were not accounted for Wednesday afternoon. Shots Fired During Police Call in Green Lane

Section of Sumneytown Pike closed for investigation Wednesday night after a neighbor allegedly fired a gun when police arrived to a domestic dispute.

Last updated 5:50 a.m. A man is in custody after shots were reportedly fired on Wednesday evening when a Marlborough Township police officer responded to the scene of a domestic dispute in Green Lane. The incident took place at about 6:45 p.m. on the Main Street section of Sumneytown Pike in the borough. No injuries were reported. Marlborough Police Chief Darren Morgan said police originally responded to a domestic call, but a neighbor fired a gun into the ground as the police officer arrived, according to the Morning Call http://bit.ly/VkQMgy.
