Anybody want to buy a former 3-story senior center in downtown Lansdale, assessed at $630,000, with elevator? Dan Sokil of The Reporter reports that the building at 315 W. Main St. in Lansdale — which formerly housed The PEAK Center — is up for sale. The PEAK Center, a senior activities center for the North Penn region, moved to Schwenckfeld Manor in Towamencin last month. PEAK Center Executive Director Robin Burstein was quoted in The Reporter: "The sooner it sells, the better it is for the Lansdale community, the PEAK Center and whoever buys it ... Philadelphia offices of Comcast Sports Group will be moved to Stamford, Conn. in 2013
Comcast Sports Group employees in Philadelphia have until October 1 to decide if they will be moving to Stamford, Connecticut with the company or finding jobs elsewhere. However, Tim Fitzpatrick of NBC Sports said this is not a new development and employees have known for "months and months" of the Oct. 1 deadline, and therefore should not come as a surprise to employees. "This process has been unfolding for months. If a letter has gone out, that's the latest part of the process," said Fitzpatrick. "It's inaccurate (to say) employees have been given four days to decide." Sharon Dean, of Highland Avenue, is worried about "the type of people" that Manna on Main Street could attract when it moves near her neighborhood with the Lansdale Collaborative Project. She brought her concerns to Lansdale's public safety committee
Highland Avenue resident Sharon Dean has no problem with the proposed future location of Manna on Main Street as part of the Lansdale Collaborative Project, proposed on the former site of Lans-Bowl on East Main Street. What she does have a problem with, she said, is the type of people that will be in and out of her neighborhood. Dean, who appeared with other residents before the committee last month, brought her concerns to the Lansdale Public Safety Committee last Wednesday. In the end, Lansdale Police Chief Robert McDyre told her that the borough cannot prevent a landowner from building what it wants within code and ordinance, but it can be proactive in making sure problems don't happen in the neighborhood. Pedaller Bike Shop owner Brett Hendricks said the business is still working out the details in a potential move from The Pavilion in Lansdale
With the moving of the Dollar Tree from Towamencin Shopping Village the former Super Foodtown location in Lansdale, The Pavilion is headed toward a second revival of retail businesses. It was reported by property owner Joe Grasso that East Norriton’s Corropolese Bakery and Deli is set to fill the space currently occupied by Pedaller Bike Shop. Grasso is quoted as saying that Pedaller will remain at or leave the shopping center. There’s also another option, according to Pedaller Bike Shop owner Brett Hendricks: Stay right where they are. “(A move) is not finalized,” said Hendricks. Hatfield Township Commissioners approved the liquor license transfer from Towamencin Wednesday
Towamencin Shopping Village at Forty Foot and Allentown road is poised to lose yet another established business. Via Marconi Pizza Pub and Sports Bar is one step closer to moving to its own pad site at the new Hatfield Pointe Shopping Center less than a mile up Forty Foot Road in Hatfield Township. On Wednesday night, Hatfield Township Commissioners unanimously approved a liquor license transfer from Towamencin, according to this article from The Reporter.
