A website redesign is on the horizon in Lansdale Borough, as two commissions implement the branding touchpoints from the recent brand narrative and platform. Local designers, and national designers, can submit a Request for Proposal
Lansdale Borough knows its website stinks. It's no surprise then — now that the 100-plus-page branding narrative and platform from North Star Destination Strategies is in the hands of borough council and committeemembers — that a facelift of www.lansdale.org is a major branding touchpoint to be implemented ASAP. "It's not easy," said Communication Commission Chairman Denton Burnell Monday night at the joint session with the borough Economic Development Committee, "but we absolutely have to tackle it now 100 percent. We have to throw out the old and start over." Suggestions were made at the final presentation on the branding initiative by North Star of what a website could look like. Since then, Lansdale staff has seen the recommendations and how to implement the brand moving forward over the next two years. Lansdale council and the borough manager have recently responded to criticisms from residents and non-residents alike, and even outlined the goals in a brand narrative. Those criticisms were expressed by Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch fans and Facebook followers over the past week. Want to know what people are saying about Lansdale's new branding package? You can read the first post and comment thread here. A second posting and response on the branding can be read here. The third and most recent posting can be …

Residents and committee members participate in a series of exercises aimed to help define Lansdale's identity
The Lansdale branding initiative took another step forward on Tuesday night, as members of the Communications Commission and the Economic Development Committee served as a focus group for the community branding consultants from North Star Destination Strategies. Led by North Star president Don McEachern, the committee members -- and a handful of residents -- participated in a series of exercises aimed at gathering honest feedback on what people like and dislike about the borough. Among the features that residents enjoyed most were the walkability of the town, affordable housing, accessibility to major highways and public transportation, the farmers' market, and the many annual activities and celebrations. On the flip side, concerns about …
