SEPTA will be fixing up and refurbishing the Lansdale train station and offer excursion tours through the Pennsylvania Northeast Railroad for the community event
There will be a brand new station and brand new trains at Lansdale Founders Day this August 25. SEPTA has committed, in writing, to refurbish and revitalize the Lansdale Train Station in preparation of the 140th anniversary of Lansdale Borough. SEPTA has also helped in securing an excursion train from Ivyland to New Hope, and from Lansdale to Souderton as part of the second-annual community event. Ambler, PA - June 22, 2012 - The Tex Mex Connection in North Wales celebrated its 23rd year of hosting the Tex Mex 5K Race for Open Space. The beneficiary is Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA), a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the health and beauty of the Wissahickon Creek. The intense heat did not keep the 1,700 runners from enjoying the race and the event that culminates with the :Party Under the Stars" at Tex Mex Connection. LBA will be moving next month from Lansdale Business Center to a location at Chantilly Floral Boutique
The Lansdale Business Association announced Wednesday it is relocating its headquarters from the Lansdale Business Center at Cannon Avenue and Seventh Street to an office in the building occupied by Chantilly Floral Boutique at West Main and Walnut streets. In an email to LBA members, Doug DiPasquale said the new location is being provided by Charles and Margie Booz of Chantilly Floral. The nonprofit LBA is looking for volunteers to help repaint the new location during the week of July 9. To assist in the painting, volunteers can sign up by clicking this link. John Nicholas Gallagher, 45, of Derstine Avenue, was busted following a prostitution sting earlier this month in Lansdale
Lansdale Police said an alleged prostitution sting led to the arrest of a suspected heroin dealer in the borough. John Nicholas Gallagher, 45, of the 500 block of Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, was arrested June 22 at his home after a search warrant was served and heroin was found in his home, police said. Gallagher's arrest was the result of a narcotics investigation that began with the arrest of two alleged prostitutes on West Main Street in Lansdale earlier this month. Gallagher is charged with felony manufacture, deliver and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance; misdemeanor possession of a counterfeit substance and misdemeanor possession with intent to use drug …
Local business owner creates the official drink of Patch.
Local business owner Chris Gimaro, of Gimaro Seafood and Steakhouse in Montgomeryville, recently concocted a delicious new drink recipe inspired by the team behind the Montgomery County region of Patch. The drink, which Gimaro has dubbed "Patch'd", features a tasty mixture of Sour-Apple Pucker Vodka mixed with none-other-than a Monster energy drink. "I know you guys are always busy with writing and reporting, so it was important to mix it with an energy drink," said Gimaro. "After all that hard work though, you'll need something stronger to unwind, so I tossed in some apple vodka." Rough Justice celebrated the release of their new EP "What We Do At Night" along with Soviet Sleeper Agent, Hollenlarm, Cold Soul, Friends With Murder and The Breaks
On Friday evening, Lansdale dirtycore band Rough Justice celebrated the release of its new EP "What We Do At Night" at the Lansdale VFW, along with a bill that included local alternative, punk and metal acts such as The Breaks, Friends With Murder, Hollenlarm, Cold Soul and Soviet Sleeper Agent. Jonathan Elwell went missing on April 18, 2012. A decomposing body found along a railline in Iowa is believed to be him, according to his family
The family of Souderton Area High School Class of 1986 alumnus Jonathan Elwell, 44, believes decomposing remains found along a railline in Iowa are the missing man. According to The Souderton Independent, Elwell was reported missing on April 18, 2012 from his Shillington, PA home. A rented Volkswagen Jetta that Elwell was driving when he disappeared was found April 20 in Iowa, A decomposing body was found June 19 in Crawford County, Iowa along Union Pacific Railroad tracks near Highway 30, according to the Bulletin Review Online in Denison, IA. A group of Souderton citizens look to raise money for the redevelopment of Chestnut Street Playground
A community coalition that has come together to raise funds for the refurbishment and rehabilitation of Chestnut Street Playground in Souderton Borough is ready for a community block party Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The block party fundraiser will occur in conjunction with Souderton's 125th Anniversary Parade, which passes West Chestnut Street and the park.
