Sunland, Inc. Expands Recall to Raw and Roasted Peanuts Sunland, Inc. announced that it is extending its ongoing recall to include raw and roasted, shelled and in-shell peanuts that were processed at its Peanut Processing Plant because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The raw and roasted peanuts were available to customers through supermarkets, grocery stores, and retail chains. Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products are being urged not to eat them and return them to the place of purchase for a refund, or to dispose of them. Talenti Gelato is recalling Talenti Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Gelato because the peanut butter ingredient used in the product is associated with the Sunland, Inc. peanut butter recall. Sunland, Inc. has recalled their peanut butters and nut butters for potential Salmonella contamination. The Talenti Gelatos were distributed between September 2011 and September 2012. There have been no reported illnesses reported in association with the Talenti Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Gelato. Consumers in possession of this product should discard it immediately. Sunland, Inc. has announced an expansion of its ongoing recall of all products manufactured in its Peanut Butter Plant for potential contamination with Salmonella. The expanded recall includes all products manufactured in its Peanut Butter Plant after March 1, 2010. According to the Food and Drug Administration release, "The scope of the initial recall covered one hundred one (101) products manufactured between May 1, 2012 and September 24, 2012. The expanded recall adds forty-nine (49) products that are currently within the manufacturer’s recommended shelf-life, that is, the 'Best-If-Used-By' dates have not expired.
