A South Korean pastor from Montgomery Township broke the Eighth Commandment, according to The Reporter, when he committed theft and conspiracy theft in 2008, for agreeing to take part in an insurance scam involving his business associate and her son’s Lexus. Kyung Soon Kim, 53, of the 100 block of Robertson Court, was sentenced to two consecutive weekends in the county jail, according to the article, after pleading guilty to the aforementioned charges. Kim also has to pay $24,554 in restitution to Liberty Mutual Insurance. Kim’s business associate, Kathleen Bangwhan Chung, 69, of Philadelphia, has already pleaded guilty to making false reports to an insurance company and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, according to court records. …

A $500 black Lorex security camera system monitor was stolen from a vehicle parked behind Ray’s Pizzeria & Steaks in the Allen-Forge Shopping Plaza in Towamencin Thursday evening. Towamencin Township Police are investigating the reported theft from and damage to the vehicle, which occurred between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Jan. 10, police said. Towamencin Township Police said numerous electronics with an estimated value of $540 were stolen from an unlocked car Dec. 13. At around 6:25 p.m. Dec. 13, a resident on the 1000 block of Pioneer Road reported a Garmin GPS, a cellphone charger and a Bluetooth cell phone car kit were stolen from the vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, police said. The auto theft occurred in the overnight hours of Nov. 7 to Nov. 8 on the 100 block of Monroe Drive in Towamencin
A black Infiniti G-37 IPL 2-door, valued at $42,000, was stolen during the overnight hours of Nov. 7 to Nov. 8 from Towamencin Condonimiums, police said. Towamencin Township Police are investigating the theft, which occurred on the 100 block of Monroe Drive, police said. The Infiniti was parked in a stall directly in front of the owner’s residence at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 7, police said. At 7 a.m., Nov. 8, the vehicle was gone. Pennsylvania State Police said unknown persons entered a home on the 800 block of Collegeville Road in Skippack Township by unknown means and removed the copper piping in the basement sometime between August 8 and September 8, 2012. While removing the piping, the robbers caused water to run in the basement, police said. The burglary of the store on West Second Street occurred between August 10 and August 11 in Lansdale
Numerous commemorative silver dollars, rare coins and 24 teddy bears were stolen from The Archive, a book and memorabilia reseller on the 700 block of West Second Street. Police said the burglary occurred between August 10 and August 11. Unknown suspects gained access by cutting a 2-foot by 2-foot hole in the sheet metal siding and inside the drywall of the building, police said. The burglar or burglars then broke into the display cases to get the items. Here is a rundown of what was stolen, along with 24 small teddy bears. All items were packaged in yellow and white boxes. Lansdale Police said someone entered an unlocked home on Monticello Place on July 26 and took more than $700 and some change. Police are pursuing leads
Lansdale Police are following up on leads on a residential burglary that occurred the afternoon of July 26 on the 800 block of Monticello Place. Police said more than $700 in cash and change was taken from the home during the daytime hours. The homeowner claimed they left the door unlocked due to a scheduled visit from a relative, police said. The homeowner told police the relative never came to the house that day, police said. A man with no fixed address, according to police, has been incarcerated following arraignment July 21 on receiving stolen property and drug charges stemming from an incident at the Lansdale train station. Police said Joseph Douglas Robb, 53, was allegedly found in possession of $500 cash and coins reported stolen from a purse of a Kissimmee, FL woman who was waiting for a train at Lansdale train station. Robb was also found in possession of a crack pipe, police said. Robb was arraigned July 21 before District Judge Deborah Lukens on a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property, misdemeanor possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct, police said. A man who no fixed address accused of stealing credit cards, a cell phone and gift cards from a car in Lansdale had a stipulation hearing Thursday morning before District Judge Andrea Duffy on theft, access device fraud and identity theft charges stemming from a Montgomery Township incident in May. In the end, Joshua Stinson, 23, formerly of 111 W. Sixth St., Lansdale, had a misdemeanor identity theft charge withdrawn by the township police. He has to repay 24K, big whoop, he'll just go back to South Korea.
