A 48-townhome development could be on the horizon in Towamencin Township. W.B. Homes has requested a public hearing for a zoning change of a 12-acre parcel on Wambold Road at Mainland Road, next to the former Mainland Inn, according to The Reporter Online. The parcel was created by the Route 309 Connector Project. The newspaper reports Towamencin Township Supervisors agreed to the hearing “through consensus” at its Jan. 23 meeting. The property would need to be changed from Light Industrial to Mixed Residential for the development to occur, according to the report. The 48 townhomes would be in 12 four-unit buildings, according to the article. The tract is owned by the Heck family, who has been unsuccessful in selling the property since …

North Penn United Way holds a Superheroes United for Kids fundraiser at PineCrest Country Club, Montgomery Township, from 7 p.m. to midnight. The cocktail-style event features dancing with music by Second Vision, a silent auction and raffle tickets. Tickets are $125 a person in advance or $150 at the door. WB Homes has proposed to develop townhomes and twins on the former Class A Residential property
WB Homes is one step closer to bringing its Williamson Square land development to Fourth Street and North Line Street on the former Fenstermacher Roofing location. Lansdale Borough Council held a public hearing Wednesday night to amend the borough zoning map to change parcels at 405 and 421 N. Line Street from Residential Class A to Residential Class B, and to amend text in the Class B zoning to permit unlotted developments on the parcel. Despite protest from a handful of residents to keep the Residential A zoning intact, borough council went on to unanimously approve the zoning change. By the beginning of April, demolition will be underway on the buildings along N. Towamencin Avenue between Second Street and Mill Alley to make way for 28 townhomes of Cannon Square. Council recently granted unanimous preliminary and final land development approval for the townhome development to WB Homes, of Upper Gwynedd, owners of the 1.3-acre plot at 90-92 N. Towamencin Ave. The townhomes will be constructed in four rows of seven homes. Each home is about 2,000 square feet. Chris Canavan, director of acquisition for WB Homes, told council that each home would be served by rear-entry garages able to fit one car, with room for one additional car on the exterior driveway. Lansdale Borough Planning Commission approves final plans for Cannon Square, welcomes a new commissioner, and continues discussions on LED signs
The Cannon Square development on the old Tyco property at West Second Street and Towamencin Avenue is one step closer to the finish line. Following a recent approval by the borough's new Design Review Board, the planning commission recommended the 28-townhome development for approval by council. Chris Canavan, director of land acquisition and development for WB Homes, presented final plans to the commission Monday night.The planning commission is an advisory board and can only recommended approval of land development plans to council. Having sufficiently addressed all concerns from a previous meeting, the commission approved the final plans. Borough Code Enforcement Director John Ernst reported to the code enforcement and land planning committee that the WB Homes project slated for 90-92 N. Towamencin Ave. — the former site of Tyco Fire Products and Craftiques — has been approved by the new borough design review board. The 1.359-acre property slated for development is bordered by North Towamencin Avenue, Mill Street, West Second Street and Cannon Avenue. “This was the first meeting of the design review board, and the first project was [the] townhome subdivision on 90-92 N. The Lansdale Planning Commission and W. B Homes have arrived at a broad consensus concerning development plans for a 28-townhome community to be built on the Tyco property at West Second Street and Towamencin Avenue. Chris Canavan, director of land acquisition and development for W. B. Homes, addressed the planning commission Monday evening, responding to the concerns he had received in a review letter from the commission. Most concerns were satisfactorily addressed for the project, encompassed by North Cannon, West Second Street, North Towamencin Avenue and Mill Street.
