In a few simple steps, you can publicize your sale and attract more people.
Do you have a massive amount of used books, dishes, clothes, gadgets, etc. that you hope to sell at your summer garage sale or the neighborhood yard sale? Post the event on Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch to get the word out. First, make sure you're a registered user on the site (all you need is a name and an e-mail address) and then you can upload your own event. Once you log in, scroll to the bottom of the home page and select "Put an event on the calendar"under the contribute category. In the event template, give your sale a name — possibly with the street name in the title — and be sure to include the date and time of your event. Planning a yard sale is a quick solution to de-cluttering your home.
On a weekly basis, I talk with local homeowners who are thinking about a move to a new home. Sometimes, they are relocating to a new town or city. One of the first questions a homeowner asks about the home they currently live in is: What should I keep in the house, and what should go? As someone on the outside looking in, this is usually a much clearer picture. For the homeowners, it’s sometimes difficult to notice when there are too many items in a room because they have functioned in the home with these things in place over a period of time. Proceeds help fund field trips for students, as well as an year end party for 6th graders
On Saturday morning, Knapp Elementary kicked off its first ever walk-a-thon fundraiser, with more than 50 students participating. Upon arrival, the students and parents were brought together to stretch their muscles, as well as lay out the guidelines for the event. "Early this morning we got everyone into the gym, and we did cooperative high five exercises, to get everyone stretched out and excited," said David Sayers, Knapp Elementary physical education teacher. Once stretched and ready, the Knapp students took on a half-mile loop, challenging themselves on how many times they could make it around during the one-hour event.
