Former Phillies Catcher 'Dutch' at Sports Authority Grand Opening Saturday

Darren Daulton will appear at the store's grand opening event at Airport Square Shopping Center Saturday.

Sports Authority has moved from Water Tower Square in Montgomery Township up the street to Airport Square Shopping Center at the old Borders location. The sporting goods store celebrates its new store with a grand opening today, featuring events, prizes and former Phillies catcher Darren “Dutch” Daulton. The first 250 customers at Sports Authority today, starting at 8 a.m., will be awarded scratch-off “Mystery Bucks” ranging from $5 to $500 in value. There will be hourly $100 gift card drawings from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Daulton will appear from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the store. Bonefish Grill Charity Night Supports ALS Association

Bonefish Grill, with the newest location opening at 27 Airport Square in Montgomery Township on Monday, May 20, is partnering with the ALS Association for a special charity night. The special event, to be held May 18, will give locals a sneak peek into the area's newest restaurant, and the chance to enjoy the food and drinks before the doors open to the public. Old Navy Sponsors Fundraiser for Lansdale Youth

Old Navy, along with organizations like North Penn PAL and North Penn YMCA, and area businesses like Chantilly Floral, Theraplay and Cardano Realtors, held a bake sale fundraiser for Matthew Knoebel and his family

It was a case of come one, come all when local shoppers and supporters stopped in Old Navy at Airport Square in Montgomery Township Saturday for a bake sale fundraiser to support Matthew Knoebel, 13, and his family. Knoebel, a Penndale Middle Schooler, is battling acute myeloid leukemia and is awaiting a bone marrow transplant this month. Old Navy brought out businesses like Cardano Realtors, Chantilly Floral Boutique, Theraplay and Wells Fargo to support the cause. North Penn YMCA had a table at the store, as did North Penn Police Activities League.  There was also a face painting table in the back of the store manned by associate Ali Moore. Montgomeryville Friendly's Closes Its Doors

The restaurant at Airport Square Shopping Center shuttered its doors Sunday afternoon, after its lease wasn't renewed. Bonefish Grill will open in the next few months

The Friendly’s at Airport Square Shopping Center on Route 309 in Montgomeryville has closed its doors for good Sunday afternoon, making way for Bonefish Grill to open at the location in the next few months. Mike Goldberg of The Reporter writes that a work crew was hauling out kitchen equipment, booths and more to a moving truck. The franchise owner, Jeff Blum, of AKZ Delaware Valley Hospitality Inc., told Goldberg the owner of the property — Gateway DC Properties Inc., under Metro Commercial of Mount Laurel, NJ — opted not to renew the lease. Blum operates 11 other Friendly’s restaurants, including one in Ft. Washington, according to the article. Blum was also the franchisee of the Friendly’s that closed earlier this year in Hatfield …

Doggie Style at 20 Airport Sq. North Wales closed down the store today without telling employees and customers. Employees came to the store to find everything packed up and gone. A lot of dogs have been hurt and abused by this company.   more ›

Liquor License Transfer OK'd for Bonefish Grill, Will Open at Friendly's Site

Montgomery Township Supervisors Monday night approved a liquor license transfer. They previously waived land development for the applicant

Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 Update Supervisors Monday night unanimously approved the intermunicipal liquor license transfer for Bonefish Grill, which is poised to open at the current Friendly's location at Airport Square Shopping Center. The liquor license will be transferred from the now closed Solaris Grille, which was located at 2665 Skippack Pike in Worcester, according to township documents. The closest licensed establishment is Romano's Macaroni Grill, located 300 feet away, according to township documents. Documents also states that an inactive liquor license exists under Habib Troudi of Ristorante Castello Inc., of 1200 Welsh Road, Montgomery Township. Police Release Sketch of KFC Robbery Suspect

The suspect robbed the store safe at gunpoint

Montgomery Township Police have released a composite sketch of the man who robbed the KFC at Airport Square Shopping Center on Monday. Police said the culprit entered the restaurant and asked to see a manager. The suspect then displayed a black handgun and demanded money from the safe, police said. He fled on foot, exiting the business with an undetermined amount of cash, police said. The suspect is described as a white male, about 35 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, medium to heavy build, brown straight hair, clean shaven, wearing a black coat, white T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone that may have witnessed any unusual events near the business is asked to contact the Montgomery Township Police Detective Division at (215) 362-2301.

The suspect then displayed a black handgun and demanded money from the safe, police said. He fled on foot, exiting the business with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
