Three Attempted Burglaries at One Apartment Complex

Towamencin Township Police are investigating the burglaries at Sotter Apartments, which occurred Friday, Feb. 8

Towamencin Township Police are investigating three attempted burglaries of three separate apartments at Sotter Apartments, 1211 Allentown Road, police said. The attempted burglaries occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 8, 2013, police said. Entry was attempted by either cutting or prying exterior window screens to the apartments. Entry was not made to any of the apartments, police said. Call Towamencin Township Police at 215-368-7606 with any information about the incidents.

Domestic Assault Suspect Heads to County Court

A Towamencin man who allegedly shoved his girlfriend's face into a mattress and slammed her head repeatedly onto the floor of their Allentown Road home, preventing her to leave, had two charges dropped at his preliminary hearing on Thursday. James Carr Heath Jr., 43, of the 1300 block of Allentown Road, heads to county arraignment Jan. 30 at 9:30 a.m. facing a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment, as well as a summary harassment charge, according to court records. A misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a harassment charge were withdrawn at the hearing. Bail was set at 10 percent of $5,000 cash, and Heath posted a $500 bond on Dec. 17, according to court records. Towamencin Police said …

Towamencin Man Imprisoned on Assault Charges

A Towamencin man remains in prison on charges that he allegedly assaulted a woman at her home on Allentown Road on December 5, and allegedly prevented her from leaving the home for her safety. James Carr Heath Jr., 43, of the 1300 block of Allentown Road, was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, false imprisonment and two counts of harassment, according to court records. Heath was arraigned December 5 before District Judge Harold Borek, who set bail at $25,000 cash, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 13 at 1:15 p.m. in Lansdale. Allentown Road Closed Monday Morning After Driver Hits Pole

Towamencin Police are attempting to identify the driver

Allentown Road was closed for several hours Monday morning between Weikel Road and Valley Forge Road following a one-vehicle accident where the driver struck a utility pole near Inglewood Elementary School. Towamencin Township Police are attempting to identify the driver, who is an adult male and the only occupant of the vehicle, police said. The man was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital via Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale after suffering injuries in the accident, police said. The man was conscious at the scene. The accident occurred around 5:11 a.m. at Woodlawn Drive and Allentown Road. Two Injured in Head-On Towamencin Crash

A female driver was transported to Lansdale Hospital and flown for treatment of a leg injury following an accident Wednesday morning on Allentown Road near Central Drive

Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning at Allentown Road and Central Drive in Towamencin Township, according to Geoff Patton of The Reporter. Officer Travis Wood of Towamencin Police told The Reporter that a male driver swerved into the westbound lane of Allentown Road, striking a westbound vehicle driven by a female. The woman suffered a leg injury, according to the article. The male suffered minor injuries. PennStar was contacted, but was called off. The female was transported to Lansdale Hospital by Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale. Milling Machine Tips Over, Impacts Traffic

A milling machine that is being used in roadwork at Broad Street and Allentown Road in Upper Gwynedd fell into a trench and caused the intersection to be closed Thursday afternoon

A 60,000-pound milling machine overturned at a roadwork area at Broad Street and Allentown Road in Upper Gwynedd Thursday afternoon, disrupting traffic due to closing the intersection. According to Brian Bingaman of The Reporter, the machine tipped over in a trench in the asphalt, falling onto the shoulder of the west side of South Broad Street at the traffic light at Allentown Road. Sgt. Steve Gillen of Upper Gwynedd Township Police was quoted in the paper as saying the machine had a possible equipment malfunction. A 7-year-old boy was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a 44-year-old Harleysville woman was transported to the trauma unit of Abington Hospital following a Monday evening accident at Forty Foot and Allentown roads in Towamencin. Police said Joon Hee Park, 27, of Willow Grove drove his 2008 Toyota Camry north on Forty Foot Road and through the intersection at a red light. At around 6:22 p.m., Park's Camry collided with a 1998 Subaru Forester, driven by Denise Mathuthu, 44, police said. MidAtlantic is a joint air medical transport program operated by Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. Residents have reported seeing a bear near Walton Farm Elementary and Towamencin Shopping Village

Towamencin Township Police have received several reports of possible bear sightings in the Allentown Road area between Derstine Road and Keeler Road on Tuesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 6. On June 6, a resident reported seeing what he believed to be a bear around 1 p.m. behind the Towamencin Village Shopping Center near Tennis-Lukens Cemetery, police said. She described the animal as three times the size of a normal German shepherd, police said. The same woman told police that a neighbor also reported seeing a bear in the Derstine Road area on June 5, police said. Sellersville Woman Injured in Accident, Ejected From Car

A woman from Sellersville was ejected about 20 feet from the vehicle she was in following an accident Monday night at Allentown and Forty Foot roads in Towamencin. Marissa Moore, 21, of Sellersville, was flown via PennStar MedEvac to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania following the accident. Moore's conditon is unknown, as hospital representatives said her parents could only release her condition. Lt. Jeff Kratz of Towamencin Police said it appeared Moore did not wear a seatbet, based on the ejection. Moore was the sole occupant, Kratz said.
