Godshall Wins Re-Election in District 53 in Montco

Incumbent Republican Robert Godshall has held his seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since 1982

Update 11:43 p.m. Incumbent Republican Rep. Robert Godshall has won re-election to the Pennsylvania 53rd District. Unofficial tallies from Montgomery County, with all 35 precincts reporting, show Godshall with 17,068 votes to Democrat Mick Wynne's 11,039 votes. Godshall, a native of Souderton and alumnus of Souderton High School, was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 1982. He chairs the House Consumer Affairs Committee. Update 10:43 p.m. Godshall remains ahead of Wynne, with 17 of 35 precincts reporting. Godshall has 10,701 unofficial votes to Democrat Wynne's 7,455 votes. Republicans Remained Strong in Montco Primary Races

Harper, Toepel, Stephens garnered more votes than their Democratic challengers; Schwartz unofficially comes out far ahead of Republican Rooney

Updated 12:51 a.m. While no local races were ultimately clinched Tuesday, unofficial results showed Democrats may need to bulk up to usurp incumbent Republicans from their state House and state Senate seats come November. What follows are unofficial tallies with all precincts in Montgomery County reporting. In the General Assembly District 53, incumbent Republican Robert Godshall had no Republican or Democratic competition. Godshall unofficially tallied 3,609 votes, according to the Montgomery County Election Results. Rep. Kate Harper, R-61, unofficially beat out her Democratic challenger Jo White in the Primary. Lansdale Man Running as Write-In Candidate in 53rd District

Mick Wynne is running for Pennsylvania's 53rd Legislative District against incumbent Robert Godshall

When you vote today for the 53rd District in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, write-in Wynne. Lansdale resident Mick Wynne, a retired Merck employee who moved to the borough in 1964, kicked off his campaign Sunday as a write-in Democratic candidate for the Primary Election today.  According to a press release, Wynne's top priorities are to protect the rights of women, stop cuts to education and defend our lands with safer use of resources.  “Pennsylvania’s state-affiliated universities have, for decades, provided our hopeful and promising students with an excellent education at a great value," said Wynne in a press release.
