The Economic Development Committee and the Communication Commission are poised to work with the Lansdale Business Association and the PennSuburban Chamber of Commerce to help promote the branding initiative
Getting Lansdale businesses on board to help promote the new brand initiative will be challenging, said Lansdale Business Association President Doug DiPasquale during last week's joint Economic Development Committee and Communication Commission meeting. The main challenge: Having business owners understand the use of the brand is not a borough-sanctioned thing. DiPasquale, who sits on the Economic Development Committee as liaison to the LBA, said the issue came up during a recent discussion of its murals project. "We talked about having a name for (the murals project): 'Murals in Motion.' 'Murals in Motion' is in keeping with the theme of the borough, but it's not a borough project," he said. "The education still needs to be there. In …

A website redesign is on the horizon in Lansdale Borough, as two commissions implement the branding touchpoints from the recent brand narrative and platform. Local designers, and national designers, can submit a Request for Proposal
Lansdale Borough knows its website stinks. It's no surprise then — now that the 100-plus-page branding narrative and platform from North Star Destination Strategies is in the hands of borough council and committeemembers — that a facelift of www.lansdale.org is a major branding touchpoint to be implemented ASAP. "It's not easy," said Communication Commission Chairman Denton Burnell Monday night at the joint session with the borough Economic Development Committee, "but we absolutely have to tackle it now 100 percent. We have to throw out the old and start over." Suggestions were made at the final presentation on the branding initiative by North Star of what a website could look like. Even Burnell designed a mock-up of a revised website at …
The Communication Commission and Economic Development Committee discussed branding touchpoints at their joint meeting Monday. One point involved the use of the new Lansdale "L" logo and policing to make sure it is used properly
Freeze! Lansdale Logo Police! As Lansdale's Communication Commission and Economic Development Committee are now tasked with being the leaders in implementing the Lansdale Borough brand narrative and brand platform into the community over the next two years, the two groups have begun talks on the how, where and what of its branding initiative. On Monday, with the aid of a 100-plus page brand manual, the groups met jointly and began to classify the implementation of various suggested branding touch points as easy, moderate and difficult — aka immediate, within the first year and down the road. What's a touch point? It is a resource or method used to build the brand in the minds of residents and visitors to Lansdale on a daily basis. For …

Council President Matt West, Borough Manager Timi Kirchner, Communications Commission Chairman Denton Burnell and Economic Development Committee Chairwoman Mary Fuller respond to the harsh community response on the new branding package for Lansdale
Since North Star Destination Strategies' reviewed its $68,000 branding initiative with the Lansdale Borough Economic Development Committee and Communications Commission on Monday night, residents and non-residents alike have taken to Facebook and the water cooler to support or criticize the results. On Wednesday night, councilmembers and the borough manager responded to many of the criticisms they have been facing since Monday. "A few of you were there Monday night as the borough revealed our brand, and reading the articles, being there, reading many of the comments online, listening to folks around the neighborhood, I felt it necessary to talk about the brand tonight," said council President Matt West. West said the top question he has …
