WB Homes has proposed to develop townhomes and twins on the former Class A Residential property
WB Homes is one step closer to bringing its Williamson Square land development to Fourth Street and North Line Street on the former Fenstermacher Roofing location. Lansdale Borough Council held a public hearing Wednesday night to amend the borough zoning map to change parcels at 405 and 421 N. Line Street from Residential Class A to Residential Class B, and to amend text in the Class B zoning to permit unlotted developments on the parcel. Despite protest from a handful of residents to keep the Residential A zoning intact, borough council went on to unanimously approve the zoning change. If approved, construction could begin as early as autumn
Looking to continue their development efforts in Lansdale, W.B. Homes has asked the borough planning commission to consider rezoning the 400 block of North Line Street so they can build a group of twins and townhomes. The property is home to the old Fenstermacher Roofing building -- which is now occupied by several smaller businesses -- and a single family home on the corner of North Line Street and Fourth Street. It is located next to the Zion Korean American Presbyterian Church, formerly Line Street School. It is currently zoned as "Residential-A", but would require a rezone to "Residential-B" prior to being developed. In anticipation of tonight's Twilight Wine and Hors D'Oeuvre Reception at the Townhomes at Cannon Square, Lansdale Patch got an exclusive look inside the new model homes at the W.B. Homes development Wednesday morning. Jim Boyd, vice president of operations for W.B. Homes, said the model home is open for tours. Construction will be done by the end of 2012. "We have one home under agreement that will settle the month of December, and two under completion. One is going under agreement next week that will settle at the end of February, where the buyer can make selections and tile choices," he said. W.B. Those people that are against this and that are concerned about traffic should go for a ride on Hemlock out to 7th street and try to get out on 7th street to go somewhere. You can't because of all of the students at St. Stans driving to school at 8 o-clock in the morning.
