Public Safety Committee last month recommended a reduction in the speed limit on Highland and Forest avenues to 25 mph. This month, a resident came forward to express frustration in tractor trailer traffic in her neighborhood
At its September business meeting, Lansdale Borough Council will vote on reducing the speed limit on Highland and Forest avenues to 25 mph. Soon, they could be considering a limit on truck traffic through that neighborhood. At the July 11 public safety committee meeting, residents primarily of Forest, Church, and Highland avenues expressed their many concerns regarding the additional traffic that the YMCA project will generate in an area where cars already “blow through stop signs,” as one resident stated in the meeting. The committee at that meeting was asked to consider lowering the speed limit on both Forest and Highland, restrict access of trucks except those making local deliveries, and increase monitoring of traffic by the Lansdale …

An accident at Church Road/Lansdale Avenue and East Main Street/Welsh Road in Lansdale on Friday afternoon resulted in a power outage Friday evening
Power was out for hours in Lansdale and Montgomery Township Friday afternoon and evening following a three-vehicle accident at Lansdale Avenue and Church Road in the borough. According to The Reporter Online, two vehicles were heading west on East Main Street at Church Road and Lansdale Avenue at around 4 p.m. Friday. A blue minivan struck a gray Chevy SUV head-on at the intersection, according to the article. The Chevy was then pushed into a gold Ford Mustang. A witness told The Reporter that the driver of the minivan appeared to have had a seizure while driving. The minivan hit the SUV, pushing it into a second car. The home remodeler held a soft grand opening last week at its second location in Upper Gwynedd
A local home remodeler has just remodeled their new home. Volpe Enterprises Inc. held a soft grand opening on May 9 to celebrate its new showroom and second headquarters at 217 Church Road in Upper Gwynedd. An official grand opening is set for May 19. "This is our main location, for now," said owner Gary Volpe. Volpe's first location is on Germantown Pike in Worcester. "We do all home remodeling," said Gary. "We build additions, we do kitchens, baths, decking, roofing, windows, doors. Whatever you need as far as home improvement." Police are investigating two instances where pedestrians with baby strollers were hit by vehicles
Lansdale Police are investigating two instances where pedestrians were struck by drivers. In both instances, pedestrians were reported with baby strollers. The first incident occurred Friday morning April 13 at Church and Hancock roads where a woman - known to locals as "The Lansdale Walker" - was reportedly struck by a female driver. The baby stroller was also hit. The driver pulled over in the area of Penndale Middle School, according to Lansdale Patch readers. The daughter of the victim said her mother and her daughter were rushed to Abington Hospital for treatment. Don't worry Leslie, they will be too busy digging through the garbage, urinating in peoples yards and causing trouble.
